AR 15 detachable carry handle gone awry

I'm guessing that maybe the threads are stripped out on the windage screw or the aperature, hard to say without looking it over. One thing you could do is take the rear sight apart and inspect the components. It comes apart pretty easily. Or you could go and buy a fold down BUIS that would...

AR 15 detachable carry handle gone awry

So if the knob is turning, is the aperature moving in the direction that you are turning the windage knob? If you turn it to move impact to the right the aperature should be moving to the right, if left it should move to the left. If it's not moving then the pin through the knob could be...

    Ak47 optic and mount advice

Since you don't have a rail, I'd go with the Ultimak and a red dot of your choosing, like others have mentioned, which would allow a co-witness of your irons and optics. If you wanted a rail, any AK smith worth their salt can install a rail for you if you prefer that, then I'd go with a RS...

    AR-10 upgrades

I've got the PRI Gen III carbon fiber handguard on mine and if you want a budget trigger the RRA 2-stage is working great for me.

Another option for you, if you are set on a G3 type, is to find a Springfield Armory SAR3 (preban) or SAR8 (post ban). Do not confuse the Greek EBO manufactured G3 variant with the POS aluminum receiver final variant that Springfield armory put out. These were made by EBO who was a HK...

    PTR rifle opinions

Agreed. The other option is to have one of the better HK smiths, like Ghilli, install a custom length rail that would allow the use of the port buffer. Granted the brass gets beat up but I did not have any problem reloading it when I did not have a buffer installed. You just need to reshape...

    PTR rifle opinions

Get one of the PTR's with the welded on picatinny rails. To avoid any warranty issues I would get one of the later ones that trunnions are fully warranteed. Some that were made by JLD are not under warranty any longer. Brass issues can be addressed by using an ejection port buffer.

    Sidearms & Scatterguns .44 Mag - S&W or Ruger

The Ruger is always going to be more a more robust revolver, whether you go with a Super Blackhawk (single action) or a Redhawk (double action). The only new option in a double action Ruger is the Super Red Hawk which is a little big, but the Alaskan is nice. If I went with the Alaskan I'd go...

Are Savage 114 receivers different than 110 receivers

Looking at the pics on the website they both appear to be the same bottom bolt release receiver.

    My friend's Collection

How about an upper for his AR in 300 Blackout that is piston operated, not DI? Assuming he's got an AR. If not, a complete rifle.

    H&K G3

That's very cool. What kind of a buffer does the AR stock use, rubber? A suggestion on the handguard would be to make a relief for the carry handle that is installed on some HK91's. It looks like it may be too tight to get the handguard on with the carry handle. How do the rail covers...

Buttstock options for longer range ar use?

Magpul MOE rifle stock has good cheekweld but it lacks the adjustability factor. The PRS does have the length of pull and cheek riser adjustability but it will cost you. Your MOE collapsible stock has the ability to take the Magpul cheek risers if that might be your only gripe, you can also...

    Mini-30 ammo preference???

The Mini-30's prefer brass case ammunition although some do use the steel case surplus successfully. If you are just doing some plinking I'd get some of the Winchester white box 123gr FMJ stuff. For hunting Id' go with any ballistic tip ammo or soft point in a brass case. The steel case...

    Tavor or, Steyr Aug

While I have never actually seen a Tavor first hand to actually finger the trigger, I do have a Steyr USR and it is nice. I have read the Tavor's do have a heavier trigger than the AUG. The AUG has been around a lot longer and is more sleek looking and the Tavor is more chunky, IMHO. I do...

    22lr conversion for a AR-15

I have a limited run CMMG upper working with an old Ceiner kit. It was one of the uppers with the 18" WASP barrel and full length handguards, a pseudo dissipator. Initially I tried the Ceiner kit with my Colt HBAR upper which was a 1/7 twist and it was not very accurate. I obtained a SAC 1/12...
