Others here are are more knowledgeable than I am. My setup has 5 inner turns and 5 outer turns. Initially I did my testing with much thinner tubing and about 10 - 12 turns. It worked great for about 30 runs but the heat damaged (oxidized?) the copper. You need to be able to run coolant through...
I got an OSS (now Huxwrx) 7.62 ti flow thru can for my .223 and .308 ARs that don't have adjustable gas blocks. It has been great, no cycling issues. 300WM is a big step up from 308 though, ideally you would like an adjustable gas block.
I suspect your coil needs to be a lot smaller. Are you using the one that came with the ZVS? Most here have turned a tighter coil with an inner diameter of ~ .75 - 1.0 inch
While this is a bit abusive, I will do this after adjusting the hammer and sear to make sure the hammer doesn't fall on it's own. Nothing more annoying that having the hammer drop to half cock while shooting... 😯
Hi - for 223 I use a full length die with expander ball and crimp because gas gun - works great and sub moa with single lot virgin brass. For 308 and 6.5cm I full length and use a mandrel (sinclair w sinclair or 21st centery expanders) .002 gives me decent neck tension and nice groups but I...
I'm still somewhat new to handloading - I went from progresive to handloading on a 650 to a T7 with the creedmoor head and inline mount/handle - I love it, using norma brass and berger hybrid bullets it make some nice ~.5 MOA ammo for my man bun gun 🙂
huh, the Labradar has been great for me for years - I use an inertial trigger for suppressors and/or noisy ranges . The firmware / app feels a bit simple but it works fine - Aiming it is a bit of a pain but I got a peep site for it that improved that - The Garmin looks great but what does it do...
At the moment I'm working on a load with this for 155s in my 308 lmt gasser. Seems to be just a little slower than the varget but seems to work well enough
For my Glocks, I like to use either a Zev or an Apex trigger/bar. I will use a Ghost disconnect in either 3.5 or 5 lbs. Maritime cups and a wolf 6 lbs. spring for the striker. (a tool steel striker is nice too) the heavier spring heavier striker helps with harder primer like CCI. The 6 lbs...
Hi - you might want to check out this thread
Homemade Induction Annealer
lots of good info. Offhand, if you are going to do a lot of brass at once you may want to look into a water cooled copper tube coil instead of just copper wire (though this should be fine for the initial pass / proof of...
Good to know - Thank you. I used a new set of drill bits to figure out the diameter of the posts but I think I will remeasure the separation distance before I have it milled :) - right now my friend it going to try it with the plastic front sight and let me know whether he thinks it will work...
Thanks all! - it is a beefy double tennon. When he initially told me about it I though it would take a basic 1911 front sight - nope :) . Each post is 3/16" thick. I prototyped the front in FreeCad - maybe it is easier to find someone with a CNC that can mill it - I'll look around.
So a friend lost the front sight off his LAR Grizzly because 45 win mag. This is an antique gun and Numrich hasn't had parts for it for a while as far as I can tell. I've 3d printed a simple front sight to see if it will work (expected to fly away on the first shot.) What would folks suggest...
