Stock Upgrade Questions on a Tikka CTR

I've got the X-Ray on my Tikka as well but I've tossed around the idea of replacing. The main reason I haven't replaced it yet is because nothing in its price range is well build enough or doesn't come with AICS bottom metal; making it a little too expensive. The X-Ray is also one of the...

Causes of Flatten Primers on light .308 Load

Update: I finally got around to testing it out with some FGMM primers and the issue went away; no more flattened primers. Good bye Winchester primers!

KabarNC, What ever you do get the folder. It seems like a steep price for what it is but it's totally worth it. Also, some of the vendors here offer discounts for Hide members. It helped save me a few hundred dollars.

    Recommendations for 223 bolt rifle

Honestly never bothered looking into MDT mags. I did a lot of looking around for 223 mags and the Accurate Mags seemed to be the standard. After running 2600+ rounds through just two ten round mags with only one issue I don't feel the need to switch. The $40 price difference is not worth using...

AI AX barrel caliber change zero shift...what are you guys getting?

AIAT here. Between my factory 20" 308 and my 24" 6.5 Creedmoor I have a 1.0 mil vertical and a .1 mil horizontal shift. When I first got my AT the repeatability was absolutely spot on. Now after about 30-40 swaps it doesn't seem as repeatable but I have never used a torque wrench, just paint...

    Accuracy International Picture Thread

TheOE800 I was debating on going the Mausingfield and Manners route before getting my AT. the reason I chose the AT was I could have it right now instead of 9-12 months from now. On top of that I could sell the AT and get most of my money back if I didn't like it.

    Recommendations for 223 bolt rifle

You and I must be on the same page because this is the second time in the same thread I've quoted you. I've ran 2600+ through this exact setup (a solid chunk from prairie dog hunting as well) with only one random hiccup. Feeds like butta'

    New World Record Rifle

Curious to know what optics were used. Seeing and identifying a man sized target at that range is impressive in and of itself. I know the article said they had a secondary observation team but it's still impressive.

    Accuracy International Picture Thread

Not Phil but I have had other custom rifles and I own an AT. I'm going to compare againt my Tikka T3 with a 22" .223 Wylde barrel in an XRay Chassis using Accurate Mags. My Tikka can have feeding problems if I push forward on the mag or rest my rifle on the magazine itself. I could do pushups on...

    Suppressors Tbac

I have the direct thread .30 cal Ultra 7 that I swap between a 24" 6.5 and 20" 308, honestly I couldn't ask for a better suppressor. It is perfectly repeatable, very quiet, and improved accuracy for this shooter. I should at that's also very light. This makes a big difference in handling when...

    Kalashnikov USA

With the recent addition of Veprs being added to the "no longer imported" list along with, Chinese Poly-techs, saigas and Arsenals. A high quality AK manufacture in the US would be a smart move. Here's to hoping someone worthwhile can pick up that torch and carry it with success.

    What's everyone's favorite muzzle brake?

I was going to say something similar. My favorite brakes are the ones inside a suppressor. :p

    Optics on sbr's??

I use a 2.5-10x32 vortex in an ADM mount on my 12.5 556 AR. My SBR is ran suppressed 100% of the time and is used for mid range steel, varmits and coyotes. The optic complements the capability perfectly and looks good on the rifle as well.

    6.5 Creedmoor

Sig2009, I took Rob's advice and I'm 0.020" of the lands with a 140 ELD as well. Silly accurate.

Causes of Flatten Primers on light .308 Load

I got some federal 210M primers I can use. I'll see how that turns out. MtnCreek, on a fired unsized case, the projectile slides in with with no resistance.

Causes of Flatten Primers on light .308 Load

I had the exact same thing happen to one of my primers and it cratered the bolt face on my AT. The only difference if your primers seem perfect, showing no signs of high pressure.
