Carbon fibre cleaning rod, is .22-.26 too thin to use on .30?

Carbon fiber cleaning rods seem very nice but come at a hefty price over here, about 2x of what you guys are paying. So I am wondering if a rod made for .22-.26 will be strong enough to use on .30, or are they too brittle/soft? Have no idea how strong a CF rod is, just know that "standard"...

Forster 3 in 1 cutter head on Lyman Universal case trimmer

This is for those of you with Lyman Universal case trimmers that are sick of chamfering and deburring after trimming your cases. There is no cutter that does it all in one step for the Lyman, the RCBS 3-way which has different threads and the Forster 3 in 1 that fits thinner shafts than the...

    Frog Lube blahed my gun

Frog Lube and colder temperatures is an awful combination, I bought a small pack to test as it was sold at every IPSC match I went to so figured everyone used it. Lubed the CZ Shadow with it, and put it in the gun locker in the basement for a couple of weeks. In the winter it is about 5 degrees...

RCBS Chargemaster Lite vs Hornady Auto Charge?

Thanks for all the feedback, very interesting. It seems neither of them is perfect, don't know if the different experiences are because of powder types or if these electronic things can't be really trusted. Have heard Varget will give automatic dispensers a hard time for some reason, and that...

RCBS Chargemaster Lite vs Hornady Auto Charge?

Has anyone used both? Which one would you recommend? The Hornady is getting mixed reviews on the net mostly related to often overthrowing charges, I asked my Hornady distributor about it and was told the issue was using wrong/factory settings. Any input on this? The RCBS Chargemaster Lite costs...

Don't know if titanium will deform over time, although I doubt it. As for the weight, the recoil lug is so small that you won't notice any difference. The stainless lug weighs about 20 grams. Go with whichever you feel comfortable with.

    Tripods??? Where to start???

I have a Sirui N-3204X carbon fiber tripod that I use for photography, and plan to use it for shooting once the Arca Swiss handgrip is out for the MDT ESS. It is top quality and very robust, and crouches very low because of the removable center column. If you are not familiar with Sirui, I...

    Tikka T3 Bravo Chassis mags?

From what I have heard AICS mags will work flawlessly one the Bravo, aswell as on my MDT ESS. But look into the COAL and see if it is long enough if you reload. It is rather short for long rounds. Another alternative might be the MDT polymer mags that are cheaper, longer COAL and they use the...

    New guy from Norway

I’ve seen several others in here aswell :) Have heard of that range in Hurum, but didn’t know it was up and running. Last I heard the local authorities had approved building a shooting range but it hadn’t started. Need to look into it. It is a 1,5 hour drive but definately worth it. No...

.308w Nosler Custom Competition 190gr experience?

Have found a good deal on this bullet by purchasing 1000 so would like to know if someone has experience with it in .308w, especially at longer ranges. It will be used in a 24 inch barrel with 1:11 twist. From what I have found it should work well with this twist rate, but am a bit worried it...

    New guy from Norway

Velkommen hit  Jealous of your shooting grounds, finding 1000m terrain over here in Østfold is a challenge unless you’re lucky enough to know a triggerhappy farmer. So I have to go out to the islets(? skjærgård) in wintertime when there are very few other boats there. The boating season...

Sweet collection at the bottom, specs? :) Need to copy your taping of the lens caps, Vortex Defenders right? Find they slip and wobble alot, especially the rear.

    What's going on???

Have you checked that your scope mount screws are properly tightened? This happened to me once at a match, the scope was sliding around in the picatinny slot. They were clamped down enough to stay on the rail luckily.

    Rear Bag Recommendations?

Does anyone know exactly what types of filling are used in various shooting bags? i.e. size, shape, material. I have a Triad small Wedge and the standard Red Tac rear bag from Triad, but think I would be better off with a flat type for field use. Something like the Armageddon X-Wing looks...

There you have it, I have long slender fingers instead. Haven't tested it either, just saw it at a SHOT show video and knew that was the one for me. But damn, that MPA grip looks very nice. Didn't know about that one. I need to research it and find out if anyone will ship it overseas (greetings...

    Tikka T3 Thread

Thanks for the tip, but I actually do not want the Ergo grip because of the finger grooves. My hands are not made for forced finger placement, and the new MDT rubberized grip is the only one on the market (that I know of) that has a palm swell but not finger grooves so I have been waiting for...

My Sterk bolt handle came today, looks even better in real life and feels amazing. Can cycle the bolt so much faster and more controlled than with the oversized knob with straight arm I had on it. And it fits perfectly with the MDT folding stock unlike the previous one. Thank you John, great...

Who has gone back to a Harris?

Use both, the Atlas is permanently mounted on the long range bolt action, and the Harris is swapped between the AR-15's for IPSC use as it is cheap so I'm not afraid to break it, and it does the job. It is also quicker to deploy on the run than the Atlas.

Gunsmithing Tikka T3 rail slot headed screws stuck, how to get them out without stripping?

Tried with a heatgun on one of the screws for a while and gave it another try, but I ended up stripping it :rolleyes: Not sure this actually is Loctite as it is clear, both on the rail and the screws. Wouldn't be surprised if they applied epoxy to both the rail and the screws. So I gave up...

T3 Tactical (First version) so I guess it's the same as the CTR. Picatinny rail.
