    I’ve moved to Berger and don’t regret it for a second. Hornady is turning into a joke. First the Amax issues, then the 147gr and we are now hearing more reports of the 130gr and 108gr disintigrating.

    Does the choice of barrel thread pitch matter when it comes to consistent accuracy in a competition rifle ? With the move to heavier barrels, is the weakest link now in the crown if you choose a thread pitch that takes off more “meat” than one that doesn’t ? Assuming all work being equal...

    I’m now using the 130gr RDF in my .260 REM going 2925 FPS. Pretty happy with groups at 100, 600 and 1000 which is below. Loading them 70 thou off to 2.94 COAL.

    He could probably load them backwards and still outshoot most of us ! I think he knows how to win a match or two and not get lost down a rabbit hole. I think the point is you don't need to do seating depth tests every few hundred rounds to win national level matches and doing seating depth...

    Jake Vibbert uses the same load on every barrel, he doesn't load to a seating depth and doesn't change his load at all over the life of a barrel. I also believe he doesn't even clean his barrel during its life. He seems to do pretty well.

    Get an AICS magazine with a binder plate which will hold the rounds to the rear of the mag or get the feed ramp notched.

    IM 2950 has loads of room. I can carry 200 rounds under this + tripod, magneto, sling and 26' barrel with room to spare. The wheels are essential.

    People do screw up their equipment and then blame the manufacturer. The OP here put up a really negative thread last week about Prime ammo saying " Shot 260 rds of Prime since the lock down and it is the worst ammo i have ever shot out of my rifle"...blah blah...now he's blaming AI....blah...

    Must be a reason they don't do that but I see it as my responsibility to make sure everything is locked down and torqued correctly. Basic maintenance vs none is usually the answer for everything we play with.

    I've had it happen. The screws come loose, back out and if you run the bolt they will sheer off. Same with the screw that holds in the firing pin. Blue locktite is the answer.
