Re: What Is This Rifle
I don't know... It's not really known for being the best action. Also, Mosin Nagants fire a rimmed round so unless you plan on reloading 7.62X54R (Because military surplus is inherently inaccurate) the modification that may be required on the bolt would concern me. I'm...
Re: Help me Choose please.
Personally, I would never pick a Salvage over a Remington... But that's just me. I hear good things about Salvage but have yet see them in person.
... And the spelling is not a mistake.
Re: MAN Cave... Let's see 'em!
No doubt! Right behind where I'm standing to take the pictures is a couch. I've found myself, on more than one occasion, waking up in there in the middle of the night on that couch and wandering bleary-eyed into the house.
Re: MAN Cave... Let's see 'em!
Thanks man!
Today was a day to just clean everything and go over them and tumble some brass. The weapons don't stay in there. I have a safe in the house. That's just where they get cleaned and worked on and where I do all of my reloading.
A couple years ago my Wife... Bless her heart... Told me I needed somewhere I could do all of my "smelly gun stuff" since the garage was way too crowded already. She decided I needed a "Man Cave". A place where I could go and do pretty much anything I wanted (That didn't involve other women or...
Re: Bipod Placement on a Sliding Rail
On that particular rifle it only depends on what's the most comfortable for you and what yields the best results. On some rifles, having it all the way forward can cause the stock to touch the barrel during firing which can affect accuracy. I've had it...
Re: Just when I thought I had my mind made up!
Certain 6 digit serial numbered SA receivers will fall in the range of those used to make the first USMC M40's. They're highly sought after by people building M40 clones. Someone who knows the range may chime in here. You can also do a search and...
Re: Just when I thought I had my mind made up!
Hey OP... My opinions on this were just my opinions. The others are right. Having owned a 5R I'm probably a little jaded. It was just... unremarkable. It was extremely accurate and in the long run that's really what it's all about. I just hated...
Re: Just when I thought I had my mind made up!
I can understand where Lee is coming from since you generally see barreled actions for far less, but those are usually stock actions from what I've seen. The way I figure is if it was in say, an A4 stock, which sells for around $850.00 would it...
Re: interesting problem !!!
Weigh the projectiles. I bought a batch of 168 SMK's once only to discover some 190's mixed in.
NOTE... This was an opened batch I bought online so it was just the seller's mistake.

Re: Just when I thought I had my mind made up!
I would be all over that custom action for a couple reasons. First and foremost, you can pick your stock. Not that the HS Precision that comes on a 5R is bad, it just doesn't fit me. You may love it.
Second, I like the specs on that custom...
Re: Malware warning from google conerning Snipers Hide
It's the fucking liberals that own the search engines! Just like the bitches that own E-gay and pay-pussy. They're crybabies that think that guns kill people.
End of rant...
PS: I use an iPad and haven't seen any warnings... Yet.
Re: Remington rifles
Wrong... And Wrong... (First 2 responses)
The 5R is NOT made in the Custom shop. But it is somewhat limited.
The 700p is not Pillar Bedded. HS Precision stocks come with an Aluminum
Bedding block.
Also, not all PSS's came with a detachable magazine. I don't recall if it...
