New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
Haven’t had a chance to get out yet but this rifle is ready to hunt. Hoping to load up some Bear Creek Copper bullets to try out on does in the late season .
I see you already bought another magazine setup but here's what I learned from LRI in the old gunsmith forum . Pull your bolt and put a round in the magazine . looking in the bolt hole in the rear of the action you should see one third of the round sticking up in the action . If there's too...
It gets to me sometimes disassembling some really nice factory rifles but making into something nicer makes it alright .@Deets check out that scope base on this Ruger .
It seems to work well but limits the shooter to whatever scope fits the supplied rings . You don't get much forward and back movement at all. Considered tapping for a weaver base on the barrel but that factory base polished up so nice and looks good.

The rear tang will cut thru most...
The first thing I do is wrap the barreled action in foam pipe insulation and tape it shut . Find a box that is fairly close to the barreled action size wrapped in foam , fill all the air space so if it gets dropped on end it doesn't hammer thru the end of the box . If it's fairly heavy I cut a...
I would go with the Mack Bros action over the Origin if it were me . The Origin has some rearward slop that drives me nuts .
I built the same gun your describing Origin action 1 in 7 twist 223 match chamber in MDT chassis . Its been out to 1050 yards a couple times a real gas to shoot .
