    Rings recs and lapping?

Lapping rings was common when receivers were questionable for consistency between front and rear and two piece bases were used. With good once piece bases or receivers with solid picatinny bases built in lapping was generally not needed. If it is a top tier ring/shop don't lap, if it is a...

Garmin Xero $499 link in post

Botach is one of those places that is hit or miss. When I lived in California I could drive to their shop and I did try ordering from them on line. What I learned is that if ordered online it may never arrive and was better to actually go to the shop and lay my hands on what I wanted. They...

    Does "Over-Annealing" Impact Shot Dynamics?

You didn't mention what method you used to anneal the brass. Here is my simple understanding of annealing - heat metal to appropriate temperature to anneal. If that temperature is not reached then the metal is not annealed. If temperature is to high than the metal can be taken to dead soft...

    No more bacon for you

They do test but don't recall frequency. When a deer tested positive just South of the state line in TN, they made mandatory check-in stations in counties nearby. They also prohibited baiting because it congregates deer which would make spreading easier. No deer where found to have CWD.

    No more bacon for you

This is Kentucky's answer to the problem. 95% of land in Kentucky is privately owned. If you are a farmer or rancher would you want people you don't know to come onto your land. I've only lived here a relatively short time but think Kentucky Fish and Wildlife is doing a pretty good job. It...

    New scope

The only reason I can think of for doing this is if you are using the twist in front ring and windage adjustable screws for the rear mount. With the windage centered you would use the screws of the rear mount to get you centered on the target. Once you have that then use elevation adjustment...

    Garmin Xero C1 Pro chronograph

Garmin it appears would rather not publicly document errors/enhancements or mistakes thus no change log of changes to the software. Like a lot of you, I like to know why something is being updated especially if it covers something I don't plan on using or needing as updates are opportunities...

    200gr for 30cal loads

You might be better off with a bullet in the 175 gr range. Rifle twist in the 308 might not be up to heavier slugs. If they are then 220 gr may be better.

    AICS magazine identification

If the magazine is hitting the bottom metal before the magazine latch will catch then your only recourse is to use longer magazines like 10 rounders. It's either that or change the bottom metal to a version that will allow the 5 rounder magazine to engage the catch when inserted.
