My current load is: 55gr Nosler Varmageddon 25.2gr H4895 RP Match Prepped Brass Fed 205 Match 10-15 thou off lands Shoots under 1" for 5 shots at 100yds when I do my part. Currently testing the 53gr Vmax w/ Varget 25gr to 27.5gr in Win brass. Shot a 5 shot group at 400m which measured...

    F T/R Competition f-open rest type

I have a Caldwell Rock BR and have a Edgewood 3" Bag on top. I will be getting a Shadetree Rest Top for it when funds allow.

    MDT's New Chassis Offering, LSS

That to me is a very well thought out chassis system. I'm not a fan but that would convert me perhaps. I think the Magpul fixed A2 stock(I think that's it) would be perfect. Good work MDT. Puts other chassis systems to shame with its simplicity. KISS done very well.

F T/R Competition F-Open-if you were gonna build

Firefour, I think you have made a good decision. It is a very accurate round and will serve you well. A friend of mine used one to win our state FO prize meeting with 130gr Berger Hunting VLDs. I was considering one myself but I think the case is a bit limiting for the heavy 140gr class bullets...

    6x47 load info

Jcallan, Cheers mate. I'm getting more CCI-450 this week so I will try the 88gr again with Varget and I will try some 107gr SMK aswell. What was the pressure like with that much Varget?

Range Report Lapua 170 gr lockbase factory ammo

I used to run them for F/TR. My load was this. 170gr Lockbase 44.4gr Varget Lapua Brass CCI BR2 2.800 COAL 2773fps with .372fps/deg F This load shot a .151" group off bipod at 100yds and shot groups around the 1-1.5" mark at 400m. Has scored well in F/TR but I think she tumbled at 1000yds as...

    6mm past 1000yds.

How do the 107gr SMK go beyond 1000yds? My rifle seems to like those as well as 105gr Lapua. I won't try hybrids after One or two ripped a jacket apart in my mates 243AI and they was only doing 3200fps approx.

    6x47 load info

Jcallan, Cheers mate. I tryed 33.5-35.5gr Varget behind 88gr Bergers the other day with federal 205 match and has very big groups with the groups above 34gr of powder. Some rounds just went like 4" apart. 33.5 and 34 was around the 1.5-2" mark but rest was crazy. I have heard of people having...

Has anyone used Fed 205 Match primers with there 6x47L and either H4350 or Varget? Cheers all.

F T/R Competition F-Open-if you were gonna build

Firefour, I would look at the 6x47Lapua, the 6.5x47L necked down. You will get better ballistics at 600yds and also have the awesome accuracy of 6mm bullets. I strongly recommend that route.

    **6 Creedmoor**

Hey all, Anyone using reformed 22-250 Lapua brass in the 6mm Creedmore? How are you forming cases? I have a 6x47L in my FO rig but am thinking about a case as a backup for my other rem which is my field, practical, do it all rig and backup F-Class rig. Has a 308 on it but want a 6mm for it aswell.

F T/R Competition F-Open-if you were gonna build

XTR, If the OP was to get a factory rifle, I'd get a 6mmBR before I'd ever get a 6.5-284. Less recoil, better barrel life, good factory ammo and very very accurate. And would be a good cal to learn with. The problem with these wind cheating cals I think is that it can make people think that...

F T/R Competition F-Open-if you were gonna build

XTR, Only issue I see with that idea is that he will only have around 500-700rds left in the barrel. I'm new to FO and I've put 400rds on my 6x47L within 3 months if practicing and testing. I had load data come with my rifle but It wasn't 100% right so I had to refine it. I think building a new...

F T/R Competition F-Open-if you were gonna build

For a 600yd FO rig, I'd build the following: Trued R700 or clone 6BR, 6x47L, 243AI, etc McMillan F-Class 10-50x or similar scope. My FO rig is a 6x47L but maybe rechambered to 6x47L improved. I don't mind fire-forming myself as they can be cry accurate. I've shot a 1.2" group at 300m for 10...

F T/R Competition Anybody using an Atlas Bipod for F-TR?

I've been using an atlas on my F/TR rig and I like it but a dedicated F-Class bipod will be better but for a do it all rig, you won't find a better bipod I think. I Tried a Harris swivel and went back to the atlas V8.

Jcm151, how heavy is your rifle though?

    F T/R Competition Stock choice

+1 to the above. It's true aswell from what I see here in West Aussie. Many fibreglass stocks being used in F-Class down here. I think that often laminate stocks are cheaper as you can finish yourself so they may be more common at club level. I have a laminate stock on my rig but I prefer...

    F T/R Competition 7wsm for FTR

Jeezus, where did F-Std come into it. That's an Aussie class we have down here. We don't have F/TR yet officially.

    F T/R Competition Musgrave Action?

There's a few down here in Western Australia where I shoot. They shoot well. Don't get to hung up on actions. It's the barrel, brass and bullets which win matches, not actions.
