    With boots I think you can go two ways. Either as cheap as possible and replace frequently or spend the money for a ten year boot. I'm not a fan of the cheaper method so I can't really suggest something. In the spendy category I first turn to Wesco.

    On an interesting note, they did it on the 100th anniversary of the opening of the Lincoln Highway, the first recognized coast to coast highway running from NY to San Fran. When it opened it took a month to drive.

    When VOOM provided HD tv via satellite they had a channel that was all horror movies, and not many good ones. I saw a whole lot of stuff like Re-Animator and From Beyond. Great fun if not good movies.

    Mil-spec gets used by a variety of industries, guitar amplifiers for example. If you only use "mil-spec" electronics you aren't using the best, just the ones that meet particular tolerances. It's perhaps the nicest way to say "we don't use absolute crap".

    Help - Dog sprayed by skunk

    We have also used vinegar for this issue and that works pretty good too. Water is an activator for skunk spray, so when you go to rinse it off it just gets worse. Go right with the detergents/cleaners sans water first.

    Hard Hats

    An OSHA class I took taught nothing could go on a hard hat that could hide any damage to the hat. So paint is fine but stickers you can't see through are a no no. I specifically asked. Maybe it was an interpretation by the instructor?

    FWIW you can paint your hardhat but not put stickers on it unless they are see-through.
