    Really digging them. Just waiting on the .223 to come available and then all of mine will be done. The lift really isn’t appreciably different to me vs the 90s… a little heavier maybe, however the decreased height/distance you need to cover more than makes up the difference.

    Lots of solid options already listed. My experience: Tikkas are about as good as you’ll find for a true off the shelf production rifle, and the Havak HIT Pro is also legit for a more “custom production rifle.”

    Bought a brand new Tikka Super Varmint .223 from them last year that came with a fuckin magnum bolt. I don’t know if the boxes come sealed from Beretta but it had clearly been tampered with at some point. Thank God I caught it prior to accepting the transfer… refunded the purchase without issue.

    Tikka would be cheaper and likely give you a wider range of cartridge options. Bolts and bolt stops are easy enough to find as well, though I’m not sure if they’re available direct from Tikka.

    Waters are excellent mags. You might also check with Hawkins - pretty sure they just announced some flush fit Hunter .223 mags, but not sure if they are AICS or require a special bottom metal to run them.

    There have been more than a few instances of MK5s being rich in elevation as well. I’ve seen at least 3 7-35s that were off by as much as +3-4%. The 5-25s seem to be affected to a lesser degree… I know of maybe 2 that were +1-2% also. All that to say that no scope is free of issues, regardless...

    Just some general thoughts reading through this thread. 1. 223 with heavies can absolutely be made to shoot with 6BRs/105s around 2800-2850. The BCs are nearly identical between the 85.5/88/90 SMK vs the 105s. I shoot 223 next to my 6BR regularly and can tell you the 223 is pretty much always...

    Tikka T3X to AICS mag conversion

    +1 for Waters mags. I’ve had a couple of 223 setups using the 10-round long OAL mags and they’ve all been superb. Unbelievably quick shipping from AUS as well.
