    Correct AW magazine for AT-X

I’ve used MDT .308 and BR 12-round mags in my ATX with no issues. As Lenny said, not as smooth as the AX mags, but I didn’t have any issues with them either. For GT I found that sliding the rounds slightly forward to the shoulder in AX mags worked best for me.

The 40* shoulder and case taper (lack thereof) is exactly why it’s generally more consistent.

    Tikka T3X Super Varmint 223

No that was before I had the rail installed. Here it is with the rail. Kinda shows you what I was talking about in front of the magwell… there’s a little step-down that creates a small gap. You could remedy that entirely by pushing the rail out further towards the muzzle. I just wanted the...

    Tikka T3X Super Varmint 223

Yes you are correct - it’s a pro varmint. Picked it up as a project stock needing a lot of work… drilled out and installed pillars, cleaned up the inlet and recoil lug area, and opened up the barrel channel. Bedded the bottom metal and action with MarineTex, and then new paint on top of all...

    Tikka T3X Super Varmint 223

Had a .223 barreled action sitting around so I picked up a cheap Boyd’s stock and decided to do my own take on a Super Varmint. Completely bedded and refinished. Have since added Waters Rifleman 10-round mags and an SRS full length Arca rail. 75 ELDs around 2950 🤌🏻🤌🏻

USPS experience with actions lost in transit.

Long guns are fine with the postal service, and the best service is Registered Mail. Insure for the whole value or whatever you can reasonably prove. Never lost one this way but be prepared… price does not come with lube.

Finally got the Arca rail mounted up today. Need a different scope mount and decide what to do about mags - either inlet for bottom metal/AICS mags or run the Waterman extended COAL mags. This thing shot incredible yesterday. 1155 yards was easy money with 75 ELDs at 2930. Super consistent even...

75 ELDs at 2900 is easily attainable with Varget and more than good enough to 1k pretty consistently. Definitely no need to chase velocity.

Brought the pro varmint back to life. I’ll never fault anyone calling me a dumbass for putting this much work into a Boyd’s stock. Not the prettiest gal when I got her… Sandblasted to see what I was working with: Cleaned it out, opened up barrel channel, re-installed pillars and prepped...

Foundation Stock most comparable to KRG Bravo

I no longer have a Foundation but I have a good amount of time with both the Centurion and MG2. I have big hands (XXL mechanix, latex, etc.) and the Centurion is way tight for me. I get hand cramps just thinking about it. MG2 is pretty long but I found it to be just right for 90 dotc. Manners...

    223 Ackley Improved

The Lees are surprisingly nice for the ~$30 you pay for the set. I tested case neck runout with the Lee and the custom I had made, and the difference was more or less negligible. That said, it definitely overworks the brass a little in my experience, especially if using a mandrel to set neck...

Sounds like Lee or custom are the way to go. Only issues I’ve seen are specific to the Reddings. I bought Lees originally before I went custom and never had an issue.
