New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
So I had a bunch of 9mm loaded not too long ago. Just range ammo using some 115gr XTP that I got free from Hornaday on their free bullet promo.
Loaded up a bunch and never did anything any different than I ever have.
Had bought a new carry gun in 9mm so wanted to get to the range and shoot it...
Have a question for you all on Temp stability on Powder.
I am getting ready to work on a 6 Arc I have in a gas gun. From all the reading I do the Leverevoloution powder shows to have the best velocity as well as the best ES/SD numbers from everything I have read.
But I have also seen where a lot...
These targets were shot after originally doing .02 gr increments.
These 3 charge weights were the node I wanted to look at coming from those earlier results.
right now I think the 40.9 is going to be my load. So I have another 10 rounds loaded to verify. Then I will work on seating depth tests...
Been working on reloads for a 6.5CM.
First ill say I am still new with a lot of this and this is a hunting rifle. Not a precision rifle or a really super high end rifle either. But one that I do enjoy to shoot and hunt with.
Finally starting to get somewhere with help from one of the members...
Bought the RCBS Lite a while back and I havent had any issues out of it.
I have had a few charges go over or under. But not a huge deal for me. I just dump them and redo the charge.
I have one. Loaded quite a bit on it. Hasnt let me down yet.
Is it an RCBS..No. Does it work for what I need it for yes.
Im just a normal guy. Not shooting probably as much a some here and it fits my needs just fine.
I have been working on Lad Dev for my 6.5CM.
Figured the CM was the easy button as some say to get my process down correctly so I know what I am doing for other rifles.
Right now I have some loaded up to find my charge weight. Then plan to tweak seating depths.
My question is on trimming the...
Im still new with the OCW and have some Tagetes I need to post for your alls review also so I can learn.
If my understanding is correct....And please someone correct me if I am wrong so I can learn as well.
In the targets listed by the OP I would be looking at loads from 43.1-43.5. With the...
Thanks for that info. First time I have seen that on the Nosler site and I have been on there a bunch.
Now for the others will .050 also be a good starting point?
If I switched to another Bullet Co. Say Berger. Is it best to just email them to get an idea of a starting point?
Again. Still...
I am looking to try my hand at some PRS matches here at home in Missouri.
Now I will say I am not like some that have a large budget for it, and am also not one to think that I will ever be some title contender.
I'm wanting to get involved to learn and have some fun..and thats it.
So in doing...
I have a couple rifles I am trying to work up loads for.
The range is about 45 min away so I try and get multiple rifles set up to go shoot.
Right now I am working on a 6.5 CM in a Savage. 143 ELD-X H4350
Also a 243 Win in a Rem 700 Sierra TMK 90 Gr H4831SC
And the next on the list is a Model...
Looking to get something new and a little better than what I have now.
Looking at a 6.5 PRC
The two rifles I am looking at getting are a Tikka T3x Lite or a Browning XBolt Speed.
Both are pretty much the same specs 24" threaded barrel etc.
If you all were in the same situation which rifle would...
IM not really looking for speed or anything. I probably dont load anywhere near what some here do.
But one thing I do load a lot of are pistol calibers.
On thing I have noticed with my Hornaday is it really gives me fits with the small pistol primers. over anything.
Small rifle work fine but the...
I have used an RCBS hand primer that takes the shell holders and I didn't have a great time with it.
I now have the Hornaday tool. Its an even bigger pile than the RCBS.
Does someone make a good one?
I was looking at the Frankford Arsenal one but I think RCBS has a universal one as well.
Are...
So after some looking I think my old Balance Beam scale from RCBS is not accurate.
I have been doing some checking and have noticed that when i level the scale to get a zero I can run some weights through it then check it again and its off.
So this leads me to think that a lot of what I have...
My Brass is once fired brass. Now I did get some of this once fired from someone else. Could my issue be that this brass has not been fire formed in this particular rifle? Would it benefit me to try thee rounds again now that they have been fired in this rifle?
I do not know what my neck...
The Creedmoor Sports scale is the one I have been looking at.
I am wondering also like you if my scale isn't a big issue.
I have also been working on loads with my 243 Win and am getting pretty inconsistent velocities also with it.
