    Rifle Scopes SHOT 2020

    I agree that the Leupold line-up was very underwhelming. Ditto for Bushnell, who seems to be floundering in terms of what to do in their tactical LPVO and reflex sight line-up. Sig didn't have much, either, but IMHO, they're starting in a way better position. Haven't been to Vortex or Burris yet.

    I saw KRG's 10/22 chassis at the show, and it's pretty rad. Still a prototype, but it's what people want, I think.

    If it's an option on your shotgun, I highly recommend the new Streamlight handguards. They're relatively compact, have high output, and good controls.

    Now, that could be good. I'm not a hunter, so the trade-offs on this gun are not personally appealing. On further reflection, this thing is also a candidate for a scout rifle build, and should meet the weight envelope. So there is that!

    Give me that at 6lbs and make it easy-ish to install a custom barrel, and I'll gladly dump my 6.5G Ruger American in MDT chassis setup out the door. Unfortunately, if Sig is jumping on the .277 Fury train, I doubt we'll see much 6.5 Grendel out of them anytime soon. My impression of this rifle...

    Rifle Scopes Burris XTR3!!!

    The only new LPVOs that Burris has announced are the RT-8 series, which are not going to be NX8 competitors... more like Viper PST Gen II or maybe Whiskey5-level stuff. That said, the $799 DFP option is probably going to be interesting, if nothing else.

    A number of companies only charge when they ship or are in the process of shipping, due to certain rules with how credit cards work. That may or may not be the case here, but it's something to consider.

    The Bushnell SMRS 1-8.5x is a very similar scope that is at CL for $680, at least in terms of glass, weight, etc. The Accupower has a somewhat better reticle in terms of windage holds, but I don't know that it's $160 better. YMMV.

    Weren't they offering the Duty rifle for like $850 instead of $1250? 33% discount on an almost-Gucci rifle will do that to you.
