    Gunsmithing Oversized Chamber???????

Your smith probably used the reamer to cut the entire chamber. Probably used a dead center as well? Just a guess though.. A little oversize doesn't hurt anything other than brass life a little. Sorry to hear of your trouble. Lee Lee Gardner Precision

Gunsmithing Gunsmiths thoughts on a Bartlein 5R

Bartlein has always been one of my favorite barrels, but ive always shot 4 groove barrels. I bought a 6mm 7.5 twist last week thinking it was a 4 groove and when it got here its a 5 groove. For whatever reason i have in my head i dont think i want to chamber this blank. A lot of my customers...

    300 blackout, why not a

Why do they shorten the parent case "223" to make the blackout? The 300 whisper or now know blackout has been around for a very long time. we just used a 221 fireball case and necked it up. why not just take a 223 case and neck it up to 30cal. I guess I don't understand. Lee

    Gunsmithing Lathe Confusion.

getting 3 phase is simple and cheap. I think I have about $300 in my set up. I have the big 0509G grizzly lathe and my spindle nose will run .0001 you really cant ask for much more than that. Those kinds of tolorence are lost in the noise anyway. Tool pressure alone looses that much. If rifle...
