    I have shot the Gemtech, besides being easy to clean, it does a hell of a job quieting and is very accurate. I have not shot the Thompson.

    Depends is the correct answer........as the density, and hence humidity, of the air affects the heating of the air. Try watching the mirage off of a hot parking lot (or a large plain) after a storm drops water on it. But in the OP's case likely no.

    I don't see where it would be an issue. The Hybrid 46 for 45 cal is threaded 5/8x24. The issue sometimes becomes enough meat on the OD for the shoulder to seat properly on "hunting" profile barrels. My 338WM had to be threaded 9/16x24 so it would have enough shoulder remaining to properly seat...

    I have quite a few guns that I have to use adapters on. The Gemtech, while more expensive is the ONLY one I haven't had an alignment issue on...the others have at least one out of 3 with issues.
