New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
Having had the old school AW, AX, and now the AT-X. The AT-X is the most versatile and hands down the best do all rifle AI makes outside of the big magnums. The ATX excels at match type shooting, its light enough in certain configurations to hunt with comfortably, and the low bore axis makes...
Also have a Manson +.010 receiver accurizing kit for the 700 action. I’ve used it a handful of times and never had any issues. Brand new on. Brownells it’s 550, I’d let it go for 425.

Started testing it at ANA Thursday afternoon. It’s a winner with the 54.18. The target is 10 shot groups with 13 different lots out of the 25.9” barrel.
Weights as pictured-
20” rifle w/ scope and internal brass weights- 14lbs 3.2oz
25.9” same setup- 14lbs 11.2 oz
I hunt with mine. 18” 308 barrel and no weights or anything. It’s definitely not a mountain rifle but a couple miles isn’t that bad. I use a MR 3DAP and it’s not quick to get out but it rides well.
There won’t be a different twist other than the 16”. That’s not to say we don’t see the trend and performance of some of the faster twists, but there are roughly 450 54.18s sitting in our shop right now so if there is a change it won’t be sudden
It’s from the hammer forging process. Bore scopes in untrained hands lead to more nonexistent issues being thought up. I’d bet your rifle shoots just fine and it’s nothing to worry about.
