6.5 Bullets Which Would You Choose?

Re: 6.5 Bullets Which Would You Choose? I found the 140 SMK's to be really good out of my 260 - shoot accurately out to 1300 yards. I know they don't have the best bc but they work in my rifle and reach out plenty far enough.

    .338 LM fps

Re: .338 LM fps 2810fps with 300's out of mine, 30" barrel and N570. A bit on the hot side but that's where the accuracy node is. Am going to have a play with the 250 scenars soon.

    Why Not Reloder17 in .338LM?

Re: Why Not Reloder17 in .338LM? Tried it, was over pressure at 81 grains. Didn't chrono the loads so not sure what sort of velocity it was achieving. Have had reports of others using it to good effect.

    Case neck flat spots

Re: Case neck flat spots Yep it's the ejector spring causing the issue on chamber extraction. Mine does exactly the same thing, nothing to worry about.

Rifle Scopes sightron Siii 8-32x56 or nightforce BR 8-32x56

Re: sightron Siii 8-32x56 or nightforce BR 8-32x56 I've just recently got the 8-32 SIII, the glass is equal to my nxs without a doubt. Not looked through the BR so couldn't comment in that but I prefer the side focus and turrets on the SIII plus it has better internal elevation than the BR...

    Stupid mistake

Re: Stupid mistake You can make a case length gauge out of nothing more than a sized case and a bullet head (cut half the neck off a sized case, seat the head and slip the cut end of the case over the bullet head, chamber it, extract then measure the length. Being a factory Rem you'll...

    Add Firearm in Shooter

Re: Add Firearm in Shooter On the iPhone app which I presume is the same as the iPod you touch Firearm and then at the top of the Firearms page there is a + symbol. Touch that and add a new profile.

Need help with bulge on brass

Re: Need help with bulge on brass Looks to me like someone's partially sized the neck. If this the case then try a few empties in your chamber before loading chances are they might not fit (unless they've been body sized...)

    Maggie’s My Dog: The Paradox

Re: My Dog: The Paradox Good one Shank, made me chuckle! Sums up my big old GSD to a tee right down to being scared of the cats... (and eating poop and vomit!)

    Opinions Saught

Re: Opinions Saught I load for a similar number of calibres and most are precision LR rifle mostly in large-ish batch qtys. I've had the forester press for a couple of years now an wouldn't go back to my old rock chucker for anything. Got the best deal through Tim Hannam, get the short handle...

Re: Any dies to recommend or avoid? 260 Rem I use a combination of the following depending on certain loads: Forster FL and micrometer seating die Redding body die Lee collet die Can't give enough praise for the Lee collet die, these things are excellent and I use them in every caliber I...

Rifle Scopes Any thoughts on Meopta scopes?

Re: Any thoughts on Meopta scopes? I've got the 4-16 and a couple of fixed power hunting scopes, glass is exceptional and the build quality is excellent. I've not had a chance to look through the 6-24 but I bet it'll be good.

    NEED HELP!!! if possible

Re: NEED HELP!!! if possible Absolutely, I guess the mv based on load data (book / SH threads) and after getting a 100 yard zero go out to 300 / 500 yards. I'm always within a Moa so then I can centre the load on target then fine tune my ballistic calculator to suit. I've tried a chrono but...

    Rifle Scopes Scope Rail Bedding

Re: Scope Rail Bedding +1 on the Kiwi Neutral shoe polish. The last thing you need when bedding is the uncertainty of if it'll come off. A tin of Kiwi costs bugger all and will last a lifetime of bedding bases and stocks... (for the hobbyist anyway). If you've got your heart set on using...

    Wandering seating depths???

Re: Wondering seating depths??? First thing to check, are your primers all seated correctly? Any slightly protruding will cause changes to OAL. If not that then it could be an issue with the die or maybe excessive or inconsistent neck tension?

    RCBS ChargeMaster McDonald's Straw Mod

Re: RCBS ChargeMaster McDonald's Straw Mod For some reason the McDonalds straws here in the UK are of a MUCH smaller diameter than those in th US! To get a good fit I took several lengths of straw, split them lengthwise and fitted them over each other until a snug fit was achieved. As a...

Rifle Scopes Falcon Menace 4-14x44 Tactical 30mm Riflescope

Re: Falcon Menace 4-14x44 Tactical 30mm Riflescope You can certainly do a lot worse than a Falcon as a starter scope, glass is reasonable, good features, built solidly and I've found them all to track pretty well all the way through the range of adjustment. Turrets are a bit mushy but they do...
