    Show Your Hunting Rifles!

Here are a couple more. Both are Hill Country Rifles Harvesters (Rem 700). 300 Win Mag with USO MR-10 1.8-10x37mm (bipod for picture-stand only). 30-06 Springfield with Zeiss Diavari V 1.5-6x42 *T (sorry, the only picture I can find is with tasty doe).

Rifle Scopes Should I get a USO sr-8m or a Leupold cqbss?

I have the same distaste for the SR8 that I currently own. The only 1-8 scopes I have been happy with is the S&B.

Where is the "wife's rifle" thread?

I had my wife's deer rifle painted recently - CZ550 American in 30-06. Graphite black Cerakote on the metal with the stock sniper gray with bright purple webbing. She likes it. It isn't so girly that I am embarrassed to shoot it myself. ;) Here she is without the scope mounted.

    Primer rupture help

To give a conclusion regarding Winchester for those that find this thread in the archives: 1) I submitted an inquiry via Winchester's website. 2) The next day they called to discuss the problem. 3) Winchester immediately sent a call tag for the existing loaded ammo. 4) Winchester sent a box...

    Did I get burned??

I have paid a lot more to get a donor action. 280 is a great caliber - one of the best out there for the LA (IMO). That rifle should make a very nice hunting rifle provided you change the scope. Enjoy.

    Rifle Scopes Feedback on a Zeiss Diavari-Z 3-12x56 T* W/Illuminated Reticle.

No added elevation. With a 20MOA base, I have about 8.5 mils of until I run out of elevation, which is enough to get my 300 Win Mag to ~1000m. ...not that I shoot that distance with that scope - it is a hunting rifle.

    Rifle Scopes Feedback on a Zeiss Diavari-Z 3-12x56 T* W/Illuminated Reticle.

I have sent my 1.5-6x42 Diavari-V (newer version of Diavari-Z) back to Zeiss for target turrets. I forget the cost, but it was very reasonable - well under a couple hundred. I have also had lenses upgraded by them. Just call the number on their website for the VA service center and talk to...

    Primer rupture help

I spoke with Winchester. They sent a call tag for the blown primer, my existing primers, and any loaded ammo using those primers. I will post back with the outcome.

    Primer rupture help

Thank to all for the help. I have an email into Winchester to see what they say. I did order 5k of the CCI primers and I will switch over to those. 1SMALLJOHNSON, the craters may be a tad big, and as you say the load is on the low side. I will seat the bullets deeper and see what happens. If...

    Primer rupture help

I had a primer rupture today and I am on a quest to find out why. The load: 300 Win Mag Hornady once fired brass Neck turned (wall thickness of 0.012") Neck sized (0.329" neck bushing > 0.0025" of interference with bullet) Primer pocket trued (depth of 0.131" +/- 0.0005") Flash hole...

26". The weight does help shooting but it isn't something I wouldn't want to walk to a tree stand with. Anything above ~14 gets dedicated to range only shooting.

Thanks. 16.6 lbm with bipod, stock pack, and sling. I was surprised by the weight and have been contemplating cutting it to 24". If I had known how huge the #7 GAP contour was, I surely would have had it fluted. Great gun, though.

    Buying a new stock question

If you order a stock that can take a varmint contour, but order it in a sporter configuration, your gunsmith will mill the barrel channel to match your barrel profile. It is much easier to remove material than to add it. Also, if you get a McMillan, they will remove material to match your...
