    M40A1 repo mounts and rings

This batch is a run of 50. 28 are already spoken for. So 22 are available. If you want one….PM me your info. When one of the hide members here gets a sample mount later this week. He will make a post and I told him to be honest about it. If this all moves forward in the next few days…. I’ll...

    M40A1 repo mounts and rings

I did send one of the unmodified mounts out to a member here on the hide for his review of it. He should have it by the end of this week and he can post his review on it and what he thinks about it.

    M40A1 repo mounts and rings

Along with the mounts from ICE..... Here is another option for everyone. The first batch will be ready in 2 weeks. I showed the mount to Marty at Badger and to George at GA Precision as well. They both liked it and said it looked great. George put a order in for 25pcs direct to the maker...

New Barrel tech from Watchtower, the Bridger

Possibly that is the thought process. The Tacom process though it’s all machined as part of the barrel. Not a two piece set up.

New Barrel tech from Watchtower, the Bridger

So the liner is still a standard steel barrel... o.k.... not going to do a whole lot for barrel life in my opinion. Your still not stopping 65psi and say 2200 to 4000 degrees F of flame temp at the throat area of the chamber...might help the barrel cool faster but it will still heat up faster...

    M40 scope rings - reproduction

We need to get one or two over here to look it over to make sure it's all good. I asked about that a while back and was told it wasn't a problem. I have one of the first ones that where made. The distance between the front lug and back lug was to long. I had to remachine it in order to make it...

    Federal does it again 😅

Classic example... two different customers. I handled one and one of the other guys handled the other. One guy says... I put 140 rounds down the barrel with no cleaning. Accuracy isn't good and it's fouling bad. .....yeah at 80k psi or more .... ya think! He also said he bought the brass...

    Dynamic Stability

I'm pretty sure I know what your asking but not sure if there is an exact answer. I will say the flight of the bullet for sure is effected...but how much? To many variables to compute that. Like how much did the bullet start off center if if you will eccentric. The bullet is basically starting...

    Federal does it again 😅

I'll say brass is a better indicator than steel. Why? The brass is softer than steel. So the primer pocket going sour and the primer going flat and hard bolt left show easier. That being said... I tell guys just because you don't see flat primers or an ejector mark or hard bolt lift or an...

    Federal does it again 😅

Don't quote me exactly but one of those action models is being used in testing. Still need a dead blow hammer to open it. Not sure which action it is exactly.

    Federal does it again 😅

Heavy bolt lift is a problem. I know two different places running ammo at 80k (not the 7BC) they need a dead blow hammer to open the bolt at the top of the cycle....then they need to beat the bolt back to extract the round as well.

    Federal does it again 😅

One of the guys doing finished test barrels (I with hold who for) had a good supply of hybrid cases. So he put a rifle together to play with. He told me last May....he didn't know how he didn't blow up the gun. He whipped up some loads...and had bullets in 270cal going 4000fps. The cases showed...

    Federal does it again 😅

Here is one problem/issue no one is talking about. The steel case heads don't show pressures like a normal brass case will. So any of you playing with this (this isn't directed just at 45-90).... have any clue or had your custom loaded / wildcat ammo pressure tested to see what it's running...

For the Love of God, GI Joe and John Wayne.... cleaning and abrasive cleaners

I use a bore/rod guide that has a solvent port in it. Like the Lucas Bore Guide. Wrap the patch around the jag... start it into the rod guide....pour the solvent on the patch thru the port. Simple pimple. Then your never putting a brush or patch into your solvent jar and contaminating the...

For the Love of God, GI Joe and John Wayne.... cleaning and abrasive cleaners

Just Hoppes #9 and patches. Wet patches till they come out clean. No dry patching. Repeat over a few to several days. I store all my guns with Hoppes. Just a fresh wet patch or two and dry patch the bore and chamber good before shooting.
