Mk12 clone or other long range 5.56

So if I use a Vltor upper (which is better than a standard forged upper) but everything else is the same then it's not a mk12. I ask cause according to that site it doesn't specify what upper. God knows if I built one with a Vltor upper and everything else was to spec and I called it a mk12...

Also can someone please post a real deal spec. sheet for the mk12 rifle and what parts EXACTLY...is considered to to be in the spec for this rifle.

Mk12 clone or other long range 5.56

I agree with the idea that safely guarding the term "mk12" as Some type of Holy Gail is BS. While yes I understand if it doesn't meet the specs then technically it's not a "mk12". Well that's why I set out to build an 18" SPR rifle that I now call mine "better than a mk12" so I don't have to...

    SR 25 ec accuracy problems

Have you cleaned it again through your two days of shooting? That would be interesting to see if cleaning it affects results...severely.

A big +1 here. I'm sure your buddy knows what's he's doing but Joe Joe the gun plumber can wreck a warranty.

    SR 25 ec accuracy problems

My bet is still on stress in the barrel. I had a Noveske SPR barrel that would drill .6-.7" for 10-12 shots. Then it would go ape shit after that opening up to 3"+. Let it cool and it's back to sub .7" your heart really sinks when it happens cause I realized what it was and the barrel had...

    SR 25 ec accuracy problems

Bad barrel. It has stress in it. As it heats up it goes to shit. Is it a Krieger? I heard KAC had some bad Kriegers.

Mk12 with suppressor won't stay open after last round

Use a Wolff Xp spring and work up buffer weights till the bolt catches. I had to run an A3 and a xp sping to tame a suppressed LMT upper I had. PITA.

    AR15 keyholing

Possibly bad bullets coming apart but unlikely. I've shot plenty of 50gr vmax in a 1-7" ran really hot with no issues other than stellar accuracy. Twist isn't an issue and you don't have to shoot heavier bullets in that twist barrel.

Question on hand feed versus mag feed accuracy issue

I've often thought the same thing. Perhaps it does something to the concentricity of the round itself. When it's loaded roughly by the bolt versus by hand, said force could be the issue. This would cause an issue in accuracy if the round leaves the case crooked it'll shoot crooked. Not saying...

Minimum barrel length and ideal twist for 6.5CM

Me....I wouldn't go shorter than 18". But would prefer 20-22"

Decision 6.5 Grendel vs. 6.5 Creedmoor

.260 if your a hand loader will do 1200+. If not then creed will do. For me a 1 mile gun would be along the lines of a 300 Norma mag, but few ARs could hold it. At this point get a bolt gun... ;) You got to have it together to shoot 1200+. Ammo must be consistant. For me it was a big...

    What M4 to buy?

Anything made by Daniel Defense. So far they are the only manufacture (complete rifle) I have bought from that has not failed me. And it's Georgia made.

    Looking to build an SBR

I hear NFA wait times are horrible right now. Get a lower that has all the options you want to do your paperwork because it's going to take forever. The rest of the build won't be a hurry. I hear Santan is going to have matched upper lower sets. From there I would use a 11.5 CHF barrel like...

    Surefire SOCOM suppressor trainer

I'm missing something here. What's the point of it, unless you have a real one. I'd rather have 6" more of barrel. At least that's useful.

BCM KMR vs. SLR Solo Lite rails

Looks a little more involved than the SLR. Not that's a big deal. If it works it works. That's what matters. They place a lot of emphasis on heat. I suppose the tolerances are very tight in the rail and nut.

BCM KMR vs. SLR Solo Lite rails

One of my biggest concerns is the barrel nut attachment. KMR looks interesting and perhaps more solid....
