    New 338ARC from Hornady…

Yeah 9mm cans with subs in the .338 ARC will be fine. I can check with the lab tomorrow but supers might be a little much on short barrels for pistol cans. Also, most .30 cal cans are in the realm of .360-.400" bore... Your call. Kind of like 6mm in 5.56 cans. Nobody is going to outright...

What am i seeing in my scope?

Wouldn't have any worries if you get the same one back. It's just something in the focal plane (grease or paint on the reticle or in the rear housing I'm guessing). Their assembly room (gigantic clean room) is top notch. They can take these apart, clean, replace sub-components etc.. and put...

Need advice - 6 ARC bolt action load data for 103-108 gr bullets

StaBall Match is slightly slower burning than Varget. I doubt you can get enough in the case to get velocity better than Varget. Unfortunately the trade off is usually +100fps for 62ksi over 52ksi but -70-150fos for temp stable powders (Varget level temp stable). StaBall Match and StaBall HD are...

    338 ARC

For subs, pistol cans should be fine. We've run several 9mm cans on 1/2-28 threaded test barrels @7".

    Hornadys new ELD VT

I'm out of the office for a week or so but I can look at downrange stability vs. other bullets when I get back but from what I remember a 12 twist was fine and actually the calculated stability held on longer with the VT than with the 176 ATip. Real life may not follow the calculations, though...

So over the Contrived and Repetitive Nature of Stages today

If nobody can see the bullet or the target nobody cares. You could film F-Class like golf with live feeds from shot marker targets, bullet trace track, and scores from the top shooters through the relays and it would be more entertaining than a jersey dude running around barricades...

So over the Contrived and Repetitive Nature of Stages today

The viewability of it as a spectator relies on your ability to get the whole scene portrayed. It's easy to get video of people shooting but who wants to watch PRS B-roll for a weekend? What if all you ever saw in golf (and mind you, watching golf on TV isn't for everyone) was them swinging...

Savage 110 Tactical Barrel chatter marks

Machine marks from reaming that they don't lap out before running a button through. I've seen some M1 Garand barrels that look like that.

    Load Development - Process

That's one way to interpret it... First off, I didn't say that load development is a myth. I said that the methods that most people have been traditionally using aren't statistically viable for exposing the performance differences between loads to the level that people like to (or believe they...

    Load Development - Process

Powder type if you're stuck on a particular bullet OR bullet if you're stuck with a particular powder Powder charge next. Seating depth last. Biggest effect to smallest effect from what I've seen. Personally, I jump .02-.05" and forget the die is adjustable.

    Hornady 106gr A-tip factory seconds

Yeah somewhere in the ballpark of .290. It works fine without cell service. For some reason, however, if you have weak service it loads slowly. Trying to connect to sync the app with updates likely. However, if you throw it into airplane mode it will start up immediately. A connection is...

    6mm ARC Hornady Brass

Not annealing, probably 5-7 before you get neck splits. With an annealing schedule (every 3 firings) you can usually get 15-25 depending on how you size the brass. Failure mode then is case head separation.

    New 6mm Advanced Rifle Cartridge

Not possible. Bar holds the extension via the lug cutouts. The barrel nut grabs the upper and front of the extension. Nothing touches/torques the barrel. ETA: Beyond that, a properly torqued extension has next to zero chance of tightening enough to affect headspace unless you are hell bent...

So over the Contrived and Repetitive Nature of Stages today

Personal opinion alert: The big steel trophies are cool and all, but I'd rather them be reserved for the Finale and just get medals/coins at regional matches. It's something the PRS could make a more or less standard item that can be more easily displayed, stored, whatever. I've got so many...

    Fastest temp stable powder

StaBall Match, H4895, Varget, XBR8208 ETA: 27.5-28.0gr of Varget has worked in 8 different 6mm ARC bolt-gun barrels now. Back off to 27gr if you're running a gasser. You will lose 100fps over the ball powders (CFE223, LVR, etc.) but it's a very stable load.

PRS Talk PRS Tac Class 308 Win

JFYI, if you run non-binder plate AICS magazines (2.950" COAL allowable), the 174gr ELD-VT's will fit in .308. .573 G1, .289 G7. This was one of my projects and I had TAC Class in mind in the development process. At the end of the day, though, run what shoots best. It takes a huge BC gap to...

    6 ARC Gas port erosion

Short list of things that can take a .75 MOA AR-15 for 20 shots to 1-3MOA: - Gas tube binding on upper or carrier - Muzzle device (seriously, swap muzzle devices and you'll see distinct differences between them) - Adjustable gas; set it as low as it will reliably function - Barrel thermo fit or...
