    Start with a 3/4” hole drilled in the Center. Most of the reloaders here go up in pressure until the brass is hard to extract, the primer is dimpled, and velocity is far past book max. That 15-20% over pressure is right by their face. All to “save” $2/shot.

    Muzzle velocity difference between manufacturers

    Tikka barrels have longer throated chambers, so shoot factory ammo slower than other barrels with shorter throats that mean higher pressure. Yes, I’ve got several, and have compared factory vs custom barrel velocities with a Garmin, and seating depth requirements for reloads in each barrel.

    My LGS sells many custom turrets to well heeled hunters. They will have a “mountain” turret and a “valley” turret.
