    Mammoth Sniper Challenge 2020 Discussion

I brought one and really didn't use it. But I'd have a lighter one that works for most uses in the event of a stage movement or transition with a pistol.

    Mammoth Sniper Challenge 2020 Discussion

Not everyone moves at the same pace. The only time there was a large group was the last ruck. Tracking is good to make sure you'll be on time and aren't falling behind. Some of the longer rucks saw our squad strung out to where we couldn't see each other. We all made the time but when you're...

I'd pass on the spotter. If you don't have a GPS watch to track progress, the Garmin with AB is nice to combine the ballistics and GPS in one unit.

    Suppressors 9 mm Suppressor Recommendations

Omega 9K. If youre not serious about .45, the .45 cans are a little louder and larger. The 9K is small and very quiet. Ive used it on an SBR with the 3 lug adapter and on a G19 and G34 with threaded barrels and really like how it sounds.

Atlas CAL/BT10/PSR- Who owns them? What do you prefer?

I'm not a fan of the panning feature at all.. I've had the bipod start to move on uneven terrain for a multiple shot string and begin to lose stability. The CAL solves my complaints with the PSR/BT10 and is IMO worth the selection over legacy BT bipods.

Rifle Scopes New high power Nightforce NX8?

Not exactly... It is a combination of objective size, body tube size, glass quality and overall optical design. Objective lens size also has an effect on resolution capabilities as well (larger is usually better).

    Mammoth Sniper Challenge 2020 Discussion

We used the tripod for 1 and 2 but not 3. Other teams used one or none in varying capacities.

    Mammoth Sniper Challenge 2020 Discussion

It was worth it for a couple stages. Given the unknown factor we will always have one. We brought trekking poles too which help me with mud and for pacing. They weren't as necessary since we ended up being near the road most of the time, but if we had to run the tank trails it might have been...

We did and saved the weight by not bringing a spotter. Also not all stages are setup to where you could use a spotter due to time or stage progression.

It's a team match. Run what you brung. Unless something changes, the secondary shooter has to run 223 or 308. Many teams run work gas guns.

Factory ammo? If so which part number? My 16" is pretty much running that speed with the .223 Match load.

    Sniper Adventure Challenge ?’s

The SAC is less about shooting as it is about field skills and being able to quickly cross terrain. Id bring something light and functional as the shooting isn't as important as everything else for winning. There are numerous AARs about SAC across the internet. For the Team Challenge Id...

I use a simple Timex that works great. Definitely bring water. Everything for the course must be carried by you. I use SpeedCross 4s, much lighter and offer good traction. Here's my loadout from last year: http://practicalsharpshooter.com/run-and-gun-5k-loadout/

First Run and Gun, First Run and Gun Build

30 seconds per miss is usually if you don't hit it and move on. Most RnGs are keep banging until you get it, give up or run out of ammo. A LPVO is king for these games, just have decent dope and you'll be ok. The downside to smaller guns is smaller mags.. making up weight due to extra mags...
