Your doing fine if you trust your feel. I turn ID and OD in one set up on a Hardinge cnc with a spark out pass on both. .0002 max wall variation is acceptable for me. Tool wear, and the amount of material removed can impact results. Thus the two passes.

I use an analog indicating mic...
First, FTR is 308 or 223 with a bipod with no bullet restriction. Any other cal is F Open with a front rest. You can still use a bipod, but you will be at a slight disadvantage.
Once you have a rifle that groups inside 1/2 min minimum ( 1/ 4 is better) you are ready for a mentor. Rifle handling...
I can help you out with advise from a lot of years of die making and brass manipulation but this typing it all out sucks. Call me and I'll offer what I can. Just finished up a very similar 500 pc lot of just what you describe. Peterson brass, 37 + shoulder. Needs to be moved incrementally.
