Wetherby Vanguard Series 2 RC Varmint
Nice buy! I got my father in law a vanguard 2 in a 223 with a wood stock that he loves. It's a shooter and he doesn't have the RC! I heard the series 2 triggers are easy to adjust. I went with a VX-3 4.5x14-40mm for my 300 win mag. I haven't put it all together but Leupys are great scopes- Flather18

Ready to shoot my rifle for the first time.
I think you're on the right track. Shoot the cheap stuff to get on paper and then change over to the match grade ammo. Remington 700 long range questions
^^^ I know, seeing Niles' 06 made me want to get one of these long range series. I am waiting on one in a 300 Win mag. I think I will try to bed the action and give it a trigger job. I can't wait to get my hands on it. Let us know how you like yours. What scope are you going with?- Flather18
