New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
I’m moving to 16# guns to run in Scott’s matches. I can keep my ACC chassis, M24 profile barrel, 56mil scope. Its a pretty reasonable limit. I think one bag is great, but I wouldn’t limit the rifles in any way other than weight.
Most ELR shooting isn’t dynamic, get a bag for used f-class if shooting prone or long range benchrest bag if shooting from a bench. Make sure the bag fits your stock (ear spacing, ect.)
If you do want to shoot something dynamic like the NF ELR, then a squeeze bag like the precision underground...
You don’t need to mag feed the NF ELR. Last Year’s winner Nolegs24 single fed his 300norma as his magazine was hanging up a bit.
I’ve lost plenty of time digging bullet tips up trying to feed 2.95” short action 7saum loads. I ran an XM 7saum last year which fed 190s perfectly. Didn’t shoot...
been very happy with a 325 TR and a ruger blackhawk w/45acp cylinder. Most of my handguns are 45acp.
Moon clips can be a pain but not if you get the tools. Auto rim cases I’d limit to heavy cast boolit (look it up) loadings that don’t fit in semi-autos. You *can* load modern revolvers hotter...
I was successful in convincing my school that NOLA qualified for study abroad (many years ago). They have a different underlying legal system than the rest of the states. I'd say its pretty damn close to being outside the US.
You’re pretty centered between the two major venues for long range shooting in the State - Coalinga to the south, Sac Valley to the north. Both ranges hold intro courses for new long range shooters.
I believe there is some BLM around Coalinga for shooting. So-Cal with its deserts has easier...
