New Tikka T3x .223 Varmint with MPA BA LIte Side Folding Chassis from Patriot Valley Arms

Was out shooting steel yesterday on a beautiful day. With an NF NSX 8-32 at full power, the recoil was only able to move my sight only very slightly off target with the Witt Machine Clamp on brake, like a million time better than an old Surfire brake I had many years ago. I am just amazed what...

Ai at small vs large firing pins

That's correct, only needed if you are shooting something with a small rifle primer like a 6.5x47L or the new Lapua 6.5CM.

    223 version of the RPR

Interesting to hear of the MDT .308 mag problems. I have three of their .223 mags and all three feed reliable. They feel very robust to me and I cannot imagine these bulging out.

    Tikka Firing Pin Issues

If you are seeing ANY pierced primers, you need to stop immediately and figure out what the problem is. Even if you are not worried about safety issues, the plasma coming out from the pierced primers will start to etch you bolt face, damaging and weakening it. It’s hard to tell how deep your...

    AI AT in .223

I went through this whole thing for the last 6 months, waited a whole bunch of time for the AICS chassis for Tikka vaporware and finally gave up on the whole idea. Ended up with the Tikka .223 Varmint in a MPA BA Lite chassis folder and could not be happier. This setup is like 3 plus pound...

    223 version of the RPR

Yes, Geno C. and Triple D is correct, they are more like 2.50” COAL. The MDT is closer to what you want, a lot cheaper and no mod needed. As for the rifle, it looks decent, the only thing I would miss is a longer barrel – at least 24”. The other thing is at that price, you can probably get...

New Tikka T3x .223 Varmint with MPA BA LIte Side Folding Chassis from Patriot Valley Arms

It's kind of crazy because this original rifle is like the cheapest gun I have, cheaper than my competition pistols, but these Tikka really shoots. With their polymer stock and Berger 80.5 grain Full Bore, this thing was shooting in the twos and threes and hitting an F-class X-ring at 600 yards...

New Tikka T3x .223 Varmint with MPA BA LIte Side Folding Chassis from Patriot Valley Arms

Swamp Rat has hit it dead center! That Tikka was not threaded and so... The Witt Machine clamp on brake is easy on and works GREAT!

New Tikka T3x .223 Varmint with MPA BA LIte Side Folding Chassis from Patriot Valley Arms

Yip Josh Kunz got me this new MasterPiece Arms chassis exactly on the date that he promised me – Thanks Josh! The Pros - This thing is really sweet with a beautiful finish, easy two screw assembly. I love the light weight 3.5 lb chassis that resulted in a 14 lb rifle, basically a little more...

Nice looking rifle! I have an MPA Lite coming next week for my Tikka .223 Varmint and will also be using MDT mags. I am interested in hearing about what you had to do to get them to work.

Budget .223 bolt rig for youths? (PRS)

The Tikka T3X predator .223 is an excellent choice since it has a 23.75" barrel, at 1:8 twist, and the hammer forge barrel is a shooter. Excellent trigger too. The only disadvantage for you is it is not in a chassis that allows adjustable LOP and cheek. But the problem here is you are asking...

Because it looks cool and we love that extra weight.. No wait....

    Accurate-mag modification

I think the Accurate .223 mags are actually .308 mags with a plastic insert that reduce their interior dimensions. This is basically two pieces of plastic that comes together to form the internal dimensions. No personal experience but I have asked them and received the same answer. I think...

My aiat in an mpa teaser pics

How much lighter will that final rifle be? I ask because I have been looking at the MPA for my Tikka .223 (I also have an AT) and the BA chassis I think is like 5.2 lb which is lighter but only a little bit than say an AICS chassis which is around 5.95 lb. I ended up going with the MPA BA Lite...

    Tikka T3 Thread

Got the same rifle but will be going with a MPA Lite folder chassis. I see in your photo that you also went with the clamp on brake like me - that thing works well. How are you liking the AI mags? I am planning on using the MDT and hope they will feed properly.

adding a muzzle brake but not sure which one

Do yourself a favor and look at the Witt Machine clamp on muzzle brake. It works, easy on and requires no threading of the barrel. If you can do the barrel threading yourself, then you are OK, but if not, do the math for the threading/postage to and back/insurance/brake. You might find that...
