New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
Cool idea! I have been warming steel by putting it next to my wood stove. In the spring or summer, I was going to actually put it in the chest freezer first and see how that works when it's 60-80' out

I haven't had good luck with metal accurate mags in 223 or 223ai. The polymer MDT ones run like a top in both of those calibers and 300blk.
The metals have been more finicky to the mag latch whereas the polymers just run. If you are loading the 223 and running 80gr bullets or longer then...
I agree with the above post. My SP10 is a laser and will hold 3/4 MOA consistently with 6.5 handloads. Shooting large frame gas guns is much more challenging and I find I need to be on my game to settle back in after shooting small frame or bolt guns. They don't leave room for sloppiness.
I am not sure. I have a pic of the S/N I can send you. Tried to call S&B stateside and they didn’t answer.
Jerry over at their service center actually looked at the scope in mid 2023 when I thought it had a windage tracking issue. Turned out the rail base on the action had come loose and...
Amazing scope that is flawless and has tracked to 1250yds on my ATX. Just swapping over to a T3 so it is consistent with all of my other scopes. Will include the Vortex bubble level.
The scope glass is flawless but the parallax and windage turrets have a few marks from the safe (see 3rd pic)...
I run a standard sopmod (with a beard) me use an elastic on the front of the latch. Also allows me to stash a sling in it. No issues from bags. Can still shoot 3/4" MOA with the RD15.
Might try these out though to increase bag rider contact.
I like the S&B PMII 5-25. There are newer scopes but the glass is on par with ZCO. They can be found used here in the mid $2000s depending on the reticle and such.
Tried to shoot you a PM, drop me one when you get a chance and I can send some more info.
Interesting. I had a .3 Mrad shift down with a 223ai Stiller in an ATX chassis regardless of whether I clipped into arca or ran a bag on the chassis.
I haven't put the RD15 on paper yet but my dial was spot on for a 450yd 1/3 IPSC steel target and a thermal clip on last month. Or at least...
Thanks for all the work on this @Bigjake83, appreciate you taking the time to document your assembly process as well.
Will you test these with the SPR Ops12 style collar and AEM5/OCM5 suppressors since they have that capability? I would like to run my OCM5 on the barrel. But have found that...
Maybe at some point I will get one built. I love shooting subs. I did not like the accuracy I got with SBRed 300blk bolt guns. 16" barrels produced much better subsonic groups.
It's a miserable subsonic round to load for because all of the variables become much more sensitive. Seat the bullet...
I will try to test my RD15 from a tripod for the group. I find found that even an ATX chassis for an R700 from a tripod had a .3 mil shift low at 100yds compared to front bipod and rear bag.
If I roll up to a spot to shoot at night, we may take a handful of shots and move on. I really don’t want to mess with connecting a phone, potentially in the freezing cold, when it’s taking time away from shooting in the window we have. I guess thats why the MARs is getting the big bucks. But...
