I use nothing but SLR blocks from my SBRs to my precision gas guns. Makes tuning for suppressors or different loads easy. If the set screw ever gets stuck just put a drop of oil on it and it will be working again in no time.
Not really a safe queen at it has seen years of use but only comes out for select reasons. Namely it is only used by an heir (only sons at this point) in my family during their first hunt starting back in the early 50's. It has been passed around and become a family tradition and seeing as I...
My 22'' JP 6.5 barrel does fairly well with 38 gr of Varget and 123 SMKs. Center target in first picture is a 7 shot group with 38gr Varget. Top right in same picture is 43.5gr h4350. Second picture is 5 shot group of 38gr Varget.

I know the 6.5x55 has a base of .480 so it may fit using the regular bolt, however since it is a long action cartridge I would probably use the large magazines and just not use the bolt stop that you would normally use for short action cartridges. As for getting a barrel made there are several...
My choice to use both a heavy buffer and an adjustable gas block can be summed up by F=m x a. Using both in conjunction with each other gives me optimal efficiency in regards to the impulse or Force (felt recoil) and the velocity at which the bolt is traveling when the gas hits the key (A). By...
Well I finally got all the parts together and got out to the range after loading up some test rounds last night. Nothing extraordinary but a few loads look like promising places to start.
