Hunting & Fishing Let’s start a coyote thread.

Headed out for a mid-winter session this coming weekend. Catch 22 this time of year in my neck of the woods. The snow is deeper, the air is colder, and the coyotes are hungrier and more receptive to calls. That being said, the deep ass snow and cold temps generally just make everything a big...

    Scope Chaps updated website

In my opinion the best suppressor cover on the market. Never had one move or slip. Edit….got confused with the other product they make. But the scope chaps are good too

Help with decision on replacing barrel or new rifle

I handload the Hammer line of bullets (all copper) and have found them to be extraordinarily easy to load for accuracy wise. All sorts of different calibers from .22 to .30. I agree with the above about CA, but whatever you do, DO NOT LEAVE CALIFORNIA. Stay and fight the good fight...

Night Vision New Nvision scope posted accidentally?

It's what I keep going back to, even though Nvision has clearly been left in the dust with regards to innovation and technology in the consumer market. It's really too bad Flir shit the bed so hard in the civilian market. I have a buddy that works for them on the .gov sales side and their...

Night Vision New Nvision scope posted accidentally?

Feel the same way. I have had the chance to BS with those guys and they are good dudes. Just wish they would come out with some different stuff. I am a big Made in USA guy and they are about the only game in town. I saw these, I love how the RF is inside the objective housing, and I love...

    Helmet setup for RH25 V2

As with all hobbies, you are in the beginning stages of the natural progression of getting by with what you have, but on the precipice of going all in on the "gucci setup". For what it's worth (almost nothing) here was mine for my coyotes in MT and hogs in TX. 1. Just use rifle scope as...

    What's your go-to duck recipe?

I am tagging in on this. I don't do wild ducks, but I have always wanted to do a farm raised duck.

Upgrading from Tikka CTR - 3 options want opinions

Well, I own all sorts of custom action/barrel combos and my Tikka (which was my gateway precision gun) is still one of the best shooting rifles I own. My daughter has it now with a MDT LSS chassis and a Luth AR adjustable buttstock. I like the Tikka Actions, and there seems to be a plethora of...

Night Vision Helmet Mounted Dual Thermals

This guy does it. I live out west, and run a dual NV/Thermal Setup. I have a Nox 35, so it is pretty big and you gotta get creative with counterweights ala lead sinkers purchased out of the ol fishing section. Once you get your helmet balanced it's all good though. I never run both at the...

    San Antonio for 3 weeks.

The real deal there...my favorite by far of all the BBQ joints I have visited on my annual trip to that neck of the woods. Have you tried the Burnt Bean in Seguin? Pretty good too.

The annual TheGermans by proxy “What stupid Christmas Gift You Get” thread?

I got a bunch of night vision stuff now that I have found out it’s really fun to drive around in complete darkness while your non NV friend is having an anxiety attack in the passenger seat.

Hunting & Fishing Ran into a small (ok LARGE) group of hogs and put the 6creed to work on them.

I use both and I feel that in most situations I end up with the same amount of hogs on the ground. If they run into a fence or obstacle, the 20 round mag and semiautomatic can come in handy. Usually they make it to cover though and I end up getting rounds in 3 or so. I keep both in the truck...

Night Vision NV and thermal kills...

@kirsch… You must use the FoxBang feature to get those things to stop after the first shot ? Out here the coyotes are running mach 3 after the first shot and never seem to stop. Any particular sound you use?

Hunting & Fishing Let’s start a coyote thread.

Got a few this weekend with some buddies, I think we got 12 total. We had a little mini coyote derby with some friendly wagers. Part of it is recovering them, which adds a little spice to the game since some come in from some pretty deep coulees. Thanks to @SkyScrapin for a new tool in the...

Hunting & Fishing Let’s start a coyote thread.

A few. I had others that were similar to your outcome, probably most. So far my sample size is pretty small with the .22 Creed, I am sure I will get some weird ones. Gonna hit er again this weekend while there is minimal snow, hopefully get a few more to test the 62s out on.

Hunting & Fishing Let’s start a coyote thread.

3280 out of a 22' 8 Twist barrel that is brand new. I am way below max load with some 4350. Shot one at about 125, a couple about 190-200, and one about 275. Last year I was using an 87 Grain Vmax out of my 6 Creed and got a few "runners", and then a few "blow ups". All the 62 VT's were bang...

I need a mentor so I can be prepared for sniper School

I am not a sniper, but I know one. You will be ready for sniper school when you can shoot at a half MOA target at a mile...but catch your bullet with your bare hands at 3/4 of a mile after you have shot it. If you can't run fast enough to do it, you need to train harder.

    Steak perfectionist

I admittedly cheat and use a thermapen to make sure I pull at 120 or 125, depending on the cut and how big it is. Other than that, it's whatever seasoning I like and whatever method I like. My latest go to is to cook on the Traeger at 180 til the meat hits about 100 degrees. Then onto the...
