Anyone Running a 7 Mag to aMile?

Most factory 7mm Rem Mags have a 1-9.5" twist, which is a little slow for most of the new high BC bullets. I shoot 162-168 gr bullets from my factory 7mags. You will probably want a 1-8" twist for the 180-197gr class of bullets.

    fx-120i autotrickle question

I just ordered the whole kit with auto throw and auto trickle. I have been checking out the upgrades that Area 419 makes. My question for those of you who use this set up is what would you recommend as a necessary upgrade? The only thing Im really considering is the trickle base because I have...

Dillon 550 toolhead with Whidden floating lock rings

So, my Redding 6.5saum sizing die is too short to use on the 550 with an O-ring under the lock nut. I guess Im going to try the Whidden floating lock rings and drill a hole for the pin in my toolhead. Does anyone know if I order just the lock rings do they come with the roll pins too?

    6.5 SAUM 150gr SMK (update) 3175fps

New update. Seating depth with a 0.100" jump has shown best accuracy so far in my seating depth testing. 62.5gr of H100 with the 0.100" jump is right at a 0.35" group. I might try a little more jump and then a new ladder test with the new seating depth.

Rifle Scopes Leupold CCH for movers

Has anyone used the CCH reticle yet on moving targets? If so how close are the "mover" holds in the reticle for your caliber?

Dillon 550 toolhead with Whidden floating lock rings

I have always used garden hose O rings (the flat red ones) under my lock rings on my dies. I guess I will just keep doing that and use the factory tool heads.

Dillon 550 toolhead with Whidden floating lock rings

Im considering getting a few of the Whidden Floating Tool Heads with the lock rings. However, I see that I can buy just the lock rings for about $10 each. My question is can I take my Dillon 550 toolhead and drill holes in it for a roll pin and just get lock rings and have basically the same...

    Dillon Short Trim Toolhead

3 spots is all I use now for case prep. I use a universal decapping die first, primer pocket swagger, then trim/size, then finish with a tapered expander. When I change out toolhead the brass will get neck sized one last time as it gets loaded.

    6.5 SAUM 150gr SMK (update) 3175fps

Got to shoot the seating depth test today. Best so far is jammed into the lands 0.010" and jumping to the lands 0.080". However, I loaded 3 round test groups, both of those put 2rounds on top of each other and then threw the third round. I was reading a thread over on 6mmbr and a guy shooting...

    Dillon Short Trim Toolhead

I have a question for those with the Dillon case trimmer and short toolhead. The description for the short toolhead says its for 300BO, but can it still be used for 223 and 308? I already have the 1500 trimmer on a regular tool head for my 650, but was going to get the trimmer its own toolhead.

    6.5 SAUM 150gr SMK (update) 3175fps

Im planning on doing a seating depth test on Sunday. I loaded up test loads of 62.5gr of H1000 and 3rds of different depths. I will test jammed 0.010", touching 0.000", (all load testing so far has been with a 0.010" jump), 0.020" jump, 0.040" jump, 0.060" jump, and 0.080" jump.

    6.5 SAUM 150gr SMK (update) 3175fps

Update: Today I went out and zeroed with the 65.0gr H1000 load, then shot out to 580yds on a steel gong, then used the truing function in my Kestrel for an approximate muzzle velocity of 3175fps. The speed is impressive but the grouping was not. I will be playing with the node below this later...

    Bullet seating depth inconsistencies

I have taken a drill bit to the seating stem of most of my dies that I use to load the newer high BC bullets. I found that the tips were bottoming out in the seating stem and I was seating them off the tip and not the ogive. By drilling out the seating stem a little deeper it fixed the problem...

Buyer beware before switching to SRP Brass (Pierced Primers)

I had that problem with my R700 6mmCM when I went to small primer Lapua brass. I switched primers and have been having good luck with the Federal "AR" Gold Metal Match small rifle primers.
