New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
It might be on par with most other scopes. I guess it just came down to my expectations. Honestly felt like my older PMII 5-25 was more forgiving. But no doubt that the scope is nice.
Not much of a review, but I returned mine. Just couldn’t get past the limited FOV, or rather the thick black nothingness around the image where it was constricted. Staw-like viewing experience. Also the eye box was a bit tight. Felt like a downgrade in overall performance from what I was used...
It’s not just in your head, it works great. I love the versatility it gives to my Nomad XC. Can’t wait to see the next iteration that RecoilX comes up with.
I find mine “usable” during daylight starting around 6 power. Comes into its own around 10x. It’s very usable at dusk with illumination on 3x, perfect for hunting. MSR2.
Yeah it’s definitely a study of compromises. I’m gonna throw a bit longer steel barrel on it to bump the weight up a few pounds for range use and save the CF barrel for hunting. Should come in around 14 lbs with a heavier barrel.
Until I built one and used it extensively. Not sure why the thought of “if I only had only one rifle” came into my head. Who has only one rifle? It’s so optic dependent anyway. So now it’s a full on lightweight precision rifle.
Compromising sucks.
Personally I would use the louder/recoil optimized of the two for range use and comps (S RR), and the quieter one (full size Magnus, non-RR) for hunting.
That’s going to be my next action (CDG). I got hands on one a few weeks ago for the first time and it was the smoothest running action I have ever cycled. I love my TL3 and 737, but wow.
