Another plane crashed, but in Canada this time

Interesting. I was flying last week with a relatively new FO who had been at a regional airline previously. He talked about several incidents that almost became accidents due to a lack of piloting skills in the cockpit and was surprised there had not been any accidents in years. Now this. I...

Questions for those with SilencerCo, Dead Air, and Banish suppressors

@VanJoe here’s a thread that has a lot of info on the Nomad: https://rokslide.com/forums/threads/dead-air-nomad-ti-xc.345399/

Where to Cow Elk hunt in 2025

I put in for a code tag in Wyoming unit 7. Because of where I work, I can’t get any time off from the middle of November to the end of December, so I’ll have to back pack in the middle of October and see if I can find them up high on public land. The only problem out there is that there’s a...

Questions for those with SilencerCo, Dead Air, and Banish suppressors

I’ve read that in several places. The wsm uses a lot less powder than a 300 prc, around 20 grains I think. But I’m aware of it happening and I’m a bit shy of it because of this. I haven’t heard of it happening with a wsm, it’s always been a larger mag, but……. The Nomad is what I plan to go...

Talk me out of an Athlon Cronus 4.5-29

You could take the top ten PRS shooters and put them in a match with a Cronus and they would still be in the top ten. No, it’s not a ZCO, TT, or Gen 3 Vortex, but if you miss the steel with a Cronus it still won’t be the scopes fault. Thats why we all like them so much.

Talk me out of an Athlon Cronus 4.5-29

I have a Gen 2 Cronus BTR and a Aeres ETR 3-18. Both are excellent for the money, especially the ETR from Euro Optics for $583. You can find a used Cronus here in the $900-$1000 range. I watch them all the time as I’m tempted to get another one. To get a slightly better scope, you will have...

Questions for those with SilencerCo, Dead Air, and Banish suppressors

Of course Dead Air has this brake: https://deadairsilencers.com/product/e-brake/#product-info-tabs%7C1 I’ve never used a brake at the end of a suppressor, but then again my old AAC 7.62SD didn’t allow for one either.

Questions for those with SilencerCo, Dead Air, and Banish suppressors

https://recoilxbrakes.com/products/30-cal-muzzle-brake?variant=41514938073165 Looks like I could put one of these on the Scythe or the Nomad TI XC. Interesting.

Questions for those with SilencerCo, Dead Air, and Banish suppressors

Anyone purchased from Capital Armory? I bought, years ago, from Silencer Shop and it went well.

Questions for those with SilencerCo, Dead Air, and Banish suppressors

I hear ya. I’ve read nightmare after nightmare post regarding them. Seems people either get lucky and it’s ok, or it’s a total disaster.

Fast burning, large grain powder like Trail Boss

How about Shooters World Buffalo? I’ve not used it and I’m not sure how available it is, but it might be worth a look. 5744 is good if you can find it and afford it. https://shootersworldpowder.com/buffalo-rifle/

So you consider the Ford Ranger a "large" truck? The Irish are stupid

“This is the vehicle that killed an 8 year old child at a pedestrian crossing in Macroom, Co. Cork. It is a Ford Ranger Wildtrack an” Wow, I didn’t realize Ford had self driving trucks in Ireland!! I hope they caught it and sent it to a crusher so it can’t drive over anymore children...

Questions for those with SilencerCo, Dead Air, and Banish suppressors

I’m in the market for a lightweight titanium suppressor around 6” long for a 20” 300WSM hunting rifle. I have had no prior experience with any of these mentioned suppressor companies; only AAC about 12 years ago. I’ve narrowed my choices down to the following four and would like to know your...

ADG or Lapua brass or does it matter?

I sent an email to tech support at Lapua asking if their 300wsm brass was made by Norma and they very quickly replied that none of their brass was made by anyone other than Lapua.

How the new Trump Presidency is running at the speed of light

Yeah, my big question is, we’ve know for years that we, the tax payers, were being fleeced; where the heck have all the “Republicans” in congress been all these years and why have they gone along with it??? Oh. Right. They have their hands out too. These that are yelling and screaming about...

ADG or Lapua brass or does it matter?

Have you tried a body die or small base die? Also, have you annealed it?

ADG or Lapua brass or does it matter?

I’ve read that on average, ADG has a bit less volume since it’s thicker, but the same velocities can be achieved with less powder than other cases with more volume. Have you any of you experienced this?

ADG or Lapua brass or does it matter?

Looking for 300WSM brass. Going with either ADG or Lapua. I’ve read many of the threads which indicate there can be a “click” issue with ADG and at times with Lapua. I didn’t even know what that was at first as I’ve never experienced that issue in over 40 years of reloading. Apparently it...
