    Tripod comparison data request

It'll work on anything with a standard mounting screw. One thing I will note, however, is that it's really helpful to be able to use the set screw on the RRS if the tripod doesn't have one. Doesn't matter how tight you put the RRS unit on, without a set screw or some heavy duty thread locker...

OTTO NoizeBarrier earpro same as new Etymotic Elites....

Shot for a few hours at a 3 gun match yesterday and they worked really well. I will say that with the large rubber flanges, some of the muzzle brakes on the ARs would make my ears ring when I was standing off to the side. Switched to the foam and no problems with that.

    Which 2-stage Remington trigger?

Just my experience, but I've had two Timney triggers. The first was a single stage AR trigger that I sent back to the shop to try to get the creep out, and when I got it back it didn't seem to have changed at all. It wasn't a lot of creep, but when you focused on squeezing the trigger it was...

wind meter that just measures wind

The Kestrel 1000 does exactly that for around $70. I'm not aware of a cheaper option that doesn't require a smart phone.

    Which 2-stage Remington trigger?

I had the Timney CE and couldn't get the creep all the way out of it despite tinkering for quite a while. The Bix N' Andy Tacsport is much better, in my experience, and more adjustable. A lot of guys here really like the Huber, which I haven't tried, but they're very expensive and I don't...

Rifle Scopes PRS Newbie Scope Selection

More than anything, any opinions on 3-15x vs 5-25x for my needs?? I’m pretty sure I’ll just end up with the PST because it’ll be easy to replace, it has all the features that are important to me, and it’s at the low end of the price range so it’s a very safe choice.

Rifle Scopes PRS Newbie Scope Selection

That makes a lot of sense, and I doubt whatever I settle on will be what I end up with. Mostly looking for a starting point.

Makes sense, and I appreciate your thoughts. Definitely something to chew on.

Rifle Scopes PRS Newbie Scope Selection

Found a Steiner T5Xi 5-25x56 for $1500. Edited my post to include that choice. I’d probably go with one of Steiners over the PST except I’m just not sure about the SCR reticle and I don’t know if the extra $$$ are worth it to me at my level of expertise (ie, virtually none).

Rifle Scopes Bushnell 30% Rebate Info for Elite Tactical Scopes

Brownells has removed the rebate from their site after having it up yesterday afternoon on the Elite Tactical line.

Rifle Scopes PRS Newbie Scope Selection

SWFA has it for $1500, where do you see it for $1000? I looked at it, my hangups were the reticle (no numbering and I like the Christmas tree style), lack of zero stop and PST has 20% wider FOV and extra 5x zoom. I’d guess the SWFA has better glass but I’d also think the PST is plenty good for...

Rifle Scopes PRS Newbie Scope Selection

I’d expect that. My only hangups with the T5Xi deal are that, at least on paper, I strongly prefer the Vortex’s reticle (I like the Christmas tree style) and I’m not sure the 5x-25x isn’t a better option for my needs.

Rifle Scopes PRS Newbie Scope Selection

Hello all - Apologies for yet another scope recommendation thread but I’ve spent hours digging through the forum and am still torn on a few things. Was hoping those of you with actual experience shooting matches could help me out. By way of background, I decided I wanted to shoot some local...

Rifle Scopes Sig Tango 4 - How's it stack up with its peers?

I think the PST is the standard in this category, but the reduced weight of the Tango 4 (5oz less) and the Dev-L reticle are really appealing. Didn’t know that about the turrets though, something to chew on. More than anything, just want to know the Tango is good-to-go mechanically and that I...

OTTO NoizeBarrier earpro same as new Etymotic Elites....

Well, with the caveats that I only used them for about an hour, and the nicest pair of hearing protection I’ve ever used is HL Impact Sports - I was really thrilled with these. Sound was very natural, even with a 10mph headwind, and the amplification mode was really useful for hunting and for...

Rifle Scopes Sig Tango 4 - How's it stack up with its peers?

I'm looking to get a long range scope for a light precision rifle in the $1000-1200 range. The 6-24x50 Tango 4 only weighs 26 ounces, and seems to have all the basic features I would want. I see lots of good reviews on the Tango 6, but I'm pretty sure the Tango 6 is a LOW product and the Tango...

Just ordered mine. Been waiting on the Etymotics to drop for quite a while now, and sure seems like these are the same product.

Mission Critical PRST vs RRS Tripod

I haven't handled either the PRST or an RRS, but after lurking here for a while it seems to me most feel the Feisol options are the closest you can get to RRS quality without paying the RRS price. Check out the 3342 and 3372 options (and their 4-segment counterparts).
