New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
Hey man, I think it is important on both, but maybe this will help. Suppressor covers are good at two things in my opinion.
1. They are almost mandatory for mirage mitigation when it comes to precision shooting, especially if you shoot in cooler/cold weather; I get some pretty nasty mirage...
Hey Scott,
Sorry, not sure how I missed your reply.
1. I am getting more or less .1-.2 shift or so with the press of a button and general pressure on the top of the unit. If I tap the top it moves a little less.
2. I think there may be something off because the elevation knob turns, but...
Just got mine in this evening. My buddy on our team has one and it works great; a couple of others on the team have the AG cover and they go flying down the range fairly often. I feel like I have a load of splinters in my hands at the moment from installing it though, I guess the Kevlar or...
The good thing is, it seems apparent that Vortex wants to be great and this was their first attempt at such a unit. As @NHPiper said, I wouldn’t be able to get into this game outside of Vortex making it possible. I imagine they will make things right with new iterations and revisions.
@Scott_at_Vortex Here are a few additional photos I just took. I did rattlecan the rifle for work, but the rails and such were taped off, which can be seen in the photos. Please let me k ow if there are others you’d like to see.
Hey Scott, thanks so much for the feedback and the info; that explains and clears things up with the seals.
As for the point of aim shift of the aiming laser, it moves and stays. I didn’t think the buttons had any function with the aiming laser, rather the pressure of just pushing the button...
Yeah, I saw that @Scott_at_Vortex said that to NHPiper, but did it go back to zero after he released the pressure from pressing the buttons? Mine does not and stays where it went. If I exit the zeroing program and go back to do it again, the point of aim has shifted further. Everything is...
Thanks for the reply. It makes me feel better that someone else has one with two seals. Yes, please let me know if you notice anything while zeroing when you get to it. I am going to call Vortex on Tuesday and see what they say.
Guys, just received my Impact 4000 and noticed there were two seals on the package; a larger one covering a smaller one that had been cut. I opened the package and everything seemed there.
I got everything calibrated and mounted to 45 in/lbs like the manual states. Upon zeroing, I noticed that...
Hey man, here ya go. I think you would be fine; unless you have one of the legacy suppressors from Surefire or something that come down a ways over the barrel. I have a few inches of barrel beyond the enclosed forend; you may be able to get away with a 14.5” barrel if you really wanted to, which...
