looking for new hunting rifle for large western game
To Each Their Own for me to Kill an Elk with a .357 magnum doesn’t seem ethical, deer sure but that’s a whole different critter in Closing it’s not what I Would Do while I Don’t think You Should I haven’t/Won’t tell you/anyone not to…….- 2c1fr

I just can’t see using something smaller than a 6.5 Creedmoor as ethical on elk I’m not the ethical police so I won’t speak to as what others do I will say I don’t agree with it- 2c1fr

New build
Terminus Apollo 6.5 PRC would be the most effective on game I would think so that’s where I’d start if not that I’d do the 6.5 Creedmoor not that 6 creed can’t get it done but for me it’s a little small- 2c1fr

6.5 Grendel Barrel Length for Hunting
Twist rate 1~9 that’s what it’s built around as far as I know it works better with lighter bullets think 100 grain up to 129 grain and as far as length I wouldn’t go shorter than 12 inches and for me I’d go Bartlein for the barrel quick question can you use a “Braced pistol” ie a SB tactical brace?- 2c1fr
