    MDT Oryx Chassis

Thought I ought to update on my feed problem after installing the Oryx stock on my Savage SA. Contacted MDT about it and after a couple of emails and a phone conversation back and forth we determined that the problem was in fact with my bolt. The problem was that the bolt head retaining pin hole...

    Side charging uppers?

Your opinion. And I sure value that! Just consider Quigley's answer..."never said I couldn't use one, just don't care for em".

    MDT Oryx Chassis

OK, but the bolt in fact does pick up the cartridge. Barely, but it does catch the cartridge. However, the main issue is the fact that the mag seems to be sitting too high and the bolt drags on the next case so much that it moves it forward and for whatever reason forces the tip down into the...

    MDT Oryx Chassis

I've loaded the mag as I normally do with any type, that's pushing the cartridge all the way to the back of the magazine. If I do that I can't get sloppy with my bolt cycling, I have to pull it all the way to the stop. This barely clears the rear of the cartridge at this point. I haven't tried...

    MDT Oryx Chassis

I put an Oryx on a Savage 10 308 that I've really liked. So, I decided to put one on my Savage 10 .222. I had a laminated thumbhole stock on it and thought an Oryx would be a better setup. However, I'm having trouble with the poly mag I got with it. My bolt has to be COMPLETELY back and just...

    Annealeez production?

I guess I don't have to worry now, had a Hide member offer his up for sale to me so I picked one up! I'll be busy for the next few days and won't be able to try it out til midweek though. Looking forward to it.

    Annealeez production?

An AMP would be great to have. But as a retired hobby shooter annealing is probably more of an experiment than anything (for me) at this point. While the annealeez is the cheapest route it still seems to be well thought of here. An induction annealer would definitely be better but maybe a little...

    Any Seekins AR10 bbl users?

Thanks for the replies! I bought 2 lowers a couple years ago intending to build my own. They sat there for quite a while, I lost interest and sold them both, one to a buddy of mine. I didn't realize at the time that I was expected to build the damn thing for him too!! So, I've been slooooowly...

    Annealeez production?

Figured I'd jump into annealing and thought I'd go with an Annealeez setup to start with. Has anyone ordered from them or talked to them lately? I know their website says a 30 day delay from the CV. I know I can give them a call but I'd rather bug you guys first than them LOL!

    Any Seekins AR10 bbl users?

Anyone out there ever use a Seekins AR10 308 bbl? Looking at an 18" "416-5r match grade" bbl for a build.

Sidearms & Scatterguns Nice looking Henry!??

The "person" thanked me for letting them know about it. But they must not be concerned about it like that cause the same picture is still showing. That's real confidence inspiring as to the shape/condition of the rifle if they're trying to sell it based on THAT picture. Of course their...

Sidearms & Scatterguns Nice looking Henry!??

LOL. Yeah I don't know about this guy! I emailed him last night when I saw that and asked why the buttstock was on upside down. He got back to me this morning...the rifle was too long for his case! And he was in a hurry to take some pics of it and DIDN'T NOTICE! So, apparently he must...

Sidearms & Scatterguns Nice looking Henry!??

Interesting! 30 people have viewed this post and no body has mentioned the buttstock. Sooo, does this mean that it's normal to run it like this?? Cause I've never seen one put on like that!!

Adapting a atlas clone to arca

Gros, Gros, Gros! After a year here you should have learned by now...(1) Never, ever admit that for whatever reason you bought a knockoff, (2) Never say you're on a budget (read poor), and (3) Never say you're from another country. The rich, elite snobs here don't like us hoi polloi. Especially...

How much accuracy am I losing by not annealing?

I've never had any bullets that I could pull with my fingers. But it bugs the hell out of me when it takes a bit of force on the reloader handle to seat one bullet and the next time I feel like I should look and see if I even have a bullet inserted as I lower the handle. Maybe I'm worrying about...

How much accuracy am I losing by not annealing?

Understood. I might have to invest in an annealer then! Another question...in the meantime would it help to step down a .001'' on my neck bushing size to increase the tension overall at loading so it would be a little more even after seating? Or is that going to be overworking the brass?

How much accuracy am I losing by not annealing?

Thanks for the replies! Interesting! I've got a minimum of 6 reloadings on each of the calibers. I see no loosening of the primer pockets yet. But the uneven neck tension is bugging me. Thats why I wondered if annealing the cases would help that issue. And of course I was wondering about the...

How much accuracy am I losing by not annealing?

I've never worried about annealing cases because I've never shot that much or done much long range. But now that I've retired I'm doing a LOT more shooting. Especially the 6.5CM and 338LM. I've reloaded both cases from both calibers at least a half dozen times ea and the brass seems to be...
