What brand is your most trusted AR15?

Lmt. Put almost 20k rounds through an Lmt defender with half of them being mag dumps, and only had to change a few o rings and other springs. Before I sold the barrel it was still shooting moa. Reliability has been top notch. The platform is well enough supported and many people run their...

    Poachers on my land

All good advice. I’ll go out Monday and put some cameras up and purchase some signs, and call the game warden. Great idea on the obvious ones, I’ll purchase some fake cameras as well to throw these varmint off. But yeah this is what happens when you don’t take action early, they get bolder and...

    Poachers on my land

My brother and I own a 150 acre farm in West Virginia. One of the houses on that property is rented out. Over the years we’ve had poachers come on our property, usually on the edges and away from the main house. however last week they shot a deer less 100 yards from the main house while the...

    308 Tack Driver Gas Gun

Weight is not just about hiking in the desert with 100 lb packs, but it’s also about how fast you can transition your rifle on different targets. If you are doing all of your shooting prone or bench than I guess it does not matter. In any case, I am a huge Lmt mws fan but I keep my set ups...

    JP or LMT

Hence the problem with jp rifles with adjustable gas blocks and low mass carriers. Your average person can barely find the controls on a rifle, let alone get a gas block adjusted properly. To call these guns gun game guns is pure ignorance. To say giving these rifles to 1000 infrantrymen is...

    On Ammo and SHTF.

that's rough. That's the ultimate trifecta: full time work, full time school and kids at the same time. well the good thing is now you can go back to wet t shirt contest and keg parties (covid allowing of course), now that the kids are older. I had my first kid at 35, so i have a long way to...

    On Ammo and SHTF.

To give you an idea in Iraq it took on average 250,000 shots fired for each insurgent kill. When you are talking civil war that is a whole different ballpark then self defense. It’s war. Also 10,000 rounds is hoarding? Ive been shooting that out of my 223 every 8-9 months for the last decade.

    On Ammo and SHTF.

If we are going into a civil, ammo prices will probably be so high that maxing out your credit cards on Ammo, might be worth 30 minutes of plinking. Ammo stash is all relative, to some 2000 rounds is a lot but unless you have a millions rounds there is plenty of room to keep stacking

Clone shit --I don't get it.

$4k is stretching it on a polytech legend, but clowns on gunjoker might pay for it. Also at $4k it better have the box, and every accessory, and be unfired. The px area can get annoying when dudes are bumping overpriced rifles every day for a year. I don't know if these guys are unrealistic...

    PGM Ultima Ratio

No worries, keep at it, it I find it interesting. I think I found out what I needed about the pgm. I’ll most likely put that aside and either buy an ai or even wait and see what your building. The cons of shortcomings outweighs the pros of wanting a nice French rifle. QUOTE="THEIS, post...

    PGM Ultima Ratio

ok, so made a typo there. I meant to say the rifle has not had many changes in 30 years i believe. They have added a rail on the right of the 4 hex screws. this rifle does have a special place in my heart as my grandfather, a Spaniard, fought in the French foreign legion in France's vietnam...

    PGM Ultima Ratio

Interesting. You are correct that this rifle was made 30 years ago and has not had many changes made to it since. The barrel change seems good no? 4 hex screws and done in less than a minute. Is there issues with using various attachments like the arca? I can’t stand slanted grips and I’m...

    PGM Ultima Ratio

Ai at is not comparable to this model in terms of modularity and features. They have a more base rifle that would be an apple to Apple comparison, that goes for about the same as the ai at. This model would be more similar to the axmc or asr. With regards to support and parts, yes this is...

    PGM Ultima Ratio

Def not cheap, but Ai rifles come in just as expensive if not more. The ai asr comes in at $9k. Range of 800 meters, I mean that depends on caliber and barrel length right? I don’t think that is any sort of testament to the system itself.

    PGM Ultima Ratio

Guess looks is subjective, I think it looks amazing. And yes it’s either pgm or a post 14 ai. Without a doubt the Ai will be more practical, but it’s also nice to have something different. I’ve owned a few Ai over the years (pre 14) and just want something different. If performance is on par, I...

    PGM Ultima Ratio

Jdi is now importing PGM rifles from France. They seem to be extremely well built, with quick barrel change, and accurate. Hard to find much information on these rifles. The one I am interested is the ultima ratio in 6.5 creedmoor, which sell for $6500-$7900 depending on features. Anyone...

Night Vision Need Advice (Spots in PVS-30)

Years back I had a conversation with one of the engineers at lwts. He mentioned while it should be ok, he’d stay away from scars with their thermals. While they are 50 calibre rated, the recoil impulse of the scar is more damaging than 50 calibre rifles.
