    AI AT308 bolt face pitting

So you machine the bolt counterbore enough to eliminate the pitting. And then what? 0. What do you do with the extractor that is now too long? 1. The ejector plunger is now proud of the bolt face. How will you deal with it. Will it still function properly after you continue to alter it? 2. Your...

    AI AT308 bolt face pitting

It was stated that the previous owner said the heat treating of the bolt head was defective. Once the "pile" is dropped on the ground the bugs come out to feed.

    AI AT308 bolt face pitting

We don't sell just the bolt head, but we do sell the bolt "assembly".

    AI AT308 bolt face pitting

I said in a previous post that it was a bore obstruction. The owner left a laser bore sighter in the muzzle and fired a round.

    AI AT308 bolt face pitting

If you are referring to the barrel that is split nearly end to end, yes.

    AI AT308 bolt face pitting

If you cant say something factual and informed, it's probably best to say nothing. What you can't see is the proof engraving on the side of the bolt head after proof testing with two high pressure proof loads. Here's an image of one of my recent souvenirs. A massive over pressure event with an...

    AI AT308 bolt face pitting

If you beat on metal parts long enough they will eventually yield. I doubt that the bolt head and breach ring in that rifle have gained any headspeace but that is easy to check with gauges.

    AI AT308 bolt face pitting

I hate idiotic speculation. The "pitting" in your bolt face, as a few others have noted, is gas erosion. In your case, it is caused by loose primer pockets. - Why does it happen? People load considerably over SAAMI/CIP max pressure levels. - Some brass cases, I won't name any names, are only...

    Vudoo announcement?

We aren't going to put out any estimates as it only gives the interwebs ammo to fire back at us :-) As most of you know, AI won't rush a product to market, but it will be the best in class when it arrives. There will be one more prototype iteration before freezing the design, completing the...

    Vudoo announcement?

Mike, it was really great having you in last week! It has been much too long. One of the people that came out to my brother's place on Sunday has been shooting the V22 Gen 2 and he and his son were very thrilled to get some hands on time with the Three 60. Both of them were just amazed at the...

    Vudoo announcement?

I should add that Mike was pleased with the mag positioning and tolerances of the fit in the AT-X mag aperture. We have experienced perfect feeding with numerous shooters and different supports. We ran the April NRL COF and the rifle handled and operated beautifully.

    Vudoo announcement?

The barrel on the one is 20". We also have a TB rimfire suppressor installed.

    Vudoo announcement?

Congrats to Mike, Paul and the crew at Vudoo on the launch. I think this is going to be a home run. We were privileged to get a reproduction sample ahead of the launch and a personal visit from MB. I took the Three 60 to a little "family and friends" match over the weekend and it was the star of...

    Accuracy International AT-X

I haven't shot the ACC for comparison, but I haven't noticed any unusual harmonics or ringing with the AT-X. The upper chassis is machined from 7075 and that may be a factor.

Please define, "tuning fork effect". Can you supply some test data to quantify what you are saying?

    Accuracy International AT-X

The Quantico Shooting Club matches are local to us and we intend to come out and support them to maximum extent possible. The inaugural match was very successful and I expect subsequent matches to be even better. We may shoot tactical class in the future to mix things up, but we are definitely...

    Accuracy International AT-X

The AT-X will ship with a 4 groove cut rifle barrel in 6.5 Creedmoor manufactured by AI in Portsmouth, UK. Barrels supplied in the US are finished at WIN Tactical from contoured blanks supplied by Bartlein. We have been using Bartlein blanks for about 10 years in the U.S. and will continue to...

2021 Accuracy International Virtual SHOT Show coming soon!

Yes. it will work with both magazines as will the AX short action. The AX mag (P/N 6677) only works in the AX and AT-X where as the AW (P/N 0726) works in both. The 6677 mag has a lug on the upper front providing greater control over mag positioning and presentation of the round to the chamber...
