New glass for the repro M40

Thanks for the great info. I will have to keep searching as it seems those are out of stock. Now I know what to look for. Appreciate it.

New glass for the repro M40

Say that my brother has a Jim Land autographed M40 repro, with rings and a sling, but no scope (that resides in my safe). Where would one get appropriate glass for it like above?

Hunting & Fishing Looking for Black Bear guide in Wisconsin

Sorry, I’m in zone D and most of the guides I know are in this area. I am fearful we will have an epic acorn crop this fall (almost none for past two years) which will make baiting hard. I might know a guy willing to help in the Winter / Radisson area. If interested, I can check with him...

    Newbie from NW Wi

Welcome. I think I’ve shot at your, very nice, range. It’s over an hour away for me, though and I usually can find places closer to home. I read more than post and still keep learning.

Tikka CTR -- anyone keep the original stock?

GGS Ranger... ach du liebe! I love my Predator, but I bought it about a year ago when the exchange rate was much more favorable. These guys do good work. Like said above, mini-chassis and CTR bottom metal / mags with little or no weight penalty and adjustable cheek rest. Also, as I’m in...

    new tikka prep?

I have had more than a few light strikes in my .308 CTR with factory Hornady ammo...that works on the second try. When I googled it, there was a video about disassembling and cleaning grease out of the striker assembly. For a variety of reasons, I haven’t got around to it yet to let you...

    Movie Theater Only The Brave

I don’t understand why more people aren’t watching this movie. It was excellent, depicts real American heroes, and was very well done. Two thumbs up! Oh, and make sure to watch the special features.

    Tikka T1X

If anyone has the inside scoop on these, would a T3x picatinny rail work on the receiver or is it going to be a new footprint? TIA

    Busted Bolt Stop Pin...

    Tikka T3 Thread

The polymer bolt stop was on a T3x CTR purchased in 2017.

    Tikka T3 Thread

I did. I improvised and temporarily fixed it with a cut down drill bit shank of the appropriate diameter. The OEM bolt stop was some type of polymer and the pin hole had elongated. I just installed a steel bolt stop kit from Tikka Performance / Mountain Tactical and have the OEM kit as a...

Training Courses NRA Long Range Precision School?

I went through the LRPO instructor school in September. It was a little basic, but had a great emphasis on the fundamentals and positional shooting, including off hand. Many of the powerpoints, especially with regard to optics and such, are dated. We got to shoot on a K/D range out to 600...

    Suppressors 7.62 Saker ASR

My Saker 7.62 had the Trifecta mounts, until I had problems the second time. Silencerco is AWESOME and replaced them with ASR. Last I shot my Tikka T3x CTR with it on, it seemed to group even better than the 0.75 moa I was getting before. The only downside is it is heavy. But it is...

    Tikka vs Custom Action???

To be fair, I was using ‘aggressive’ bolt manipulation. If not trying to eject past the next shooter and cycle as fast as a semi, but just out of the rifle, it will probably be fine.

    Tikka vs Custom Action???

Apparently not. I had my bolt stop depart my T3x CTR after only 150 rounds, on day one of the NRA Long Range Precision Optics class in September. It was during dry fire practice on day 1. Stopped at a hardware store and cut down an appropriate size drill bit shank to replace the pin. Been good...

Rifle Scopes Vortex AMG new reticle??

Agreed that the AMG is a nice package. For my needs, I would rather have the low end field of view of the Razor 3-18 at 37 feet over the AMG at 20 feet. I have to work to find a place to shoot at over 600 yards and <50 is common.

Rifle Scopes Vortex AMG new reticle??

How do we do that? I would pay cash money for 4-16 AMG with this reticle, or a Razor Gen 2 3-18x with this reticle...that weighed 30 oz.

Stock Upgrade Questions on a Tikka CTR

I just received my German Gun Stock Predator for my CTR. It installed perfectly and my initial impression is money well spent. I went with the GGS for several reasons: I live in a northern climate and did not want an all aluminium chassis. Uses CTR bottom metal (I already had spare...
