New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
My middle child, David who is 9 has hunted with me has hunted hard this year and got his first deer, a doe earlier in the season. Been trying to get him on the right buck since then.
We have very strict rules on bucks and so it is not just a matter of the first buck you see you shoot.
We were...
Absolutely digging this new Nightforce NXS 2.5-10x42 !
They did a fantastic job:
- Dig the new MilR reticle.
- Outstanding glass.
- Illuminated reticle works extremely well for ultra low light usage.
- Built in cattail for easy magnification changes.
- Power range is perfect for a precision...
I hunt hogs year round and LOVE going after them..
As others have mentioned we are all almost private land and unless youare lucky and were born into land ownership most of us pony up and get ona hunting lease which are in high demand. We pay 10k a year to be on on a good place with year round...
Unless you have red or green color blindness I don't think you would have any problem picking up any if the colors.
Some people like the triangle, I don't personally.
I was testing a NSX 2.5 -10 x42 against a Leica 3-12x50 in very low light out to 300 yards and I frankly didnt see any difference and Leica glass is damned good.

I have ran every configuration they make.
The mildot / green dot is my favorite
Hard to beat the 3-9x40 for an all around hunting scope. My oldest sun snagged mine two years ago..
Ryan,
Looking forward to your report
Please do some low light testing against some other optics.
Personally, for deer (Texas whitetail) I can get by without illumination provided it has good glass and a bold enough reticle.
I get to test a LOT if scopes
And I spend a lot of time using them in the field hunting and doing real world testing.
I think the features and specs are well thought out for the price point.
My big question is "how good is the glass?"
That would make or break it for me for hunting.
I can...
I have heard people say they are faster with an Eotech (as mentioned above)
I have done several back to back tests with a shot timer and the results show no difference with several people running the tests with T1s, Comp4 and Eotech.
I don't think you need a ton of magnification for long range, you need great glass.
I am just testing the NF for review but own a Kahles k312 which replaced my USO 3-17 for shooting out to 1k.
I have not got a chance to shoot the NF at that distance yet as it is hunting season.
