Member Link Up Upstate SC longrange shooting

I went to all of their 3 Gun matches, great venue for that. But, Bo was a nut job. The 3-gun crew pretty much all migrated to Clinton House.

    New Tikka Tac A1 day...

Love my Tikka! 6.5CM lefty for me. Lit the lamp on the 1 Mile target 4x yesterday without having ever done more than pull a boresnake through it for maintenance. ~300 rounds so far. I tried swapping the stock for a PRS that I have on the shelf and gave up. Yes, the Tikka has an "AR style"...

    Gunsmithing Muzzle Brake Crush Washers

These work really well also. Much easier to use than shims. https://precisionarmament.com/product/accu-washer-system/

V is For Vendetta Good Movie

The original is always the best, eh? But there are enough differences to make V a great stand alone. V is obviously political whereas The Count is purely personal.

WHEN DID YOU DECIDE TO CARRY ALL THE TIME

I grew up with the typical "hunting" relationship with guns. Mostly black powder, some shotgun for small game, .22 for plinking. Never touched a centerfire rifle until qualifying with M16. Fast forward to being a dad and going for a hike with my wife and ~6 month old in a carrier. Great...

    Best inch pound torque wrench

It does not operate like the Wheeler. There is no “click” when you reach desired torque, the driver just kinda slips

    Best inch pound torque wrench

Not sure. I’ve been swamped this week and haven’t had a chance to really mess with it. All I’ve done so far is use it to set a bolt to x in/lb and then test against a Fat Wrench. Seems to be accurate enough for me with that limited test.

    Best inch pound torque wrench

Fixit has a new "multi torque" kit that just came out. I got a set delivered earlier this week. Seems perfect to drop in a pack. The website says "pre order", but I received my set ~10 days after ordering. https://store.fixitsticks.com/collections/all-shooting/products/multi-torque-driver-kit

Best night stand gun safe and why?

It does, but I'm fairly confident that it can be turned off.

Were Firearms Readily Available to You as a Kid?

Let me add that our 'free access' to everything was not without consequence. Dad was, and still is, an avid black powder guy. Later '70s-early 80's we probably had 50# of the holy black on hand at any given time. My brother and I did all sorts of stupid ship with that stuff that could easily...

Were Firearms Readily Available to You as a Kid?

I would strongly argue that "inaccessible" and "taboo" do NOT need to synonymous. My kids are around guns every day...they help me reload, they hang out and help me clean them or just fondle "their" rifles. But, when we're done, the shop door gets locked.

Were Firearms Readily Available to You as a Kid?

I voted unlimited access and am still here 47 years later. That said, it was a really stupid thing to do then and now. Kids can be taught, and can be trusted to do the right thing 98% of the time, it's that 2% that can really mess up a life. It's just scientific fact that the adolescent brain...

Best night stand gun safe and why?

Same situation here. About 6 years ago, I reluctantly bought a Barska biometric/fingerprint scanner 'safe'. That thing has been rock solid. It has never failed to work for me or my wife. It opens quickly (1-2 seconds) and alarms when I forget to lock it back up. Still on its original...

Gunsmithing Yo Dave Spring...I have it, should I install it?

I ordered the Yo Dave trigger spring for my Tikka Tac A1 and got it in the mail a couple days ago. My dilemma is this, I'm getting far better results than I have a right to expect with this rifle already and don't want to muck things up. I'm getting consistent .4 MOA groups on paper at 100 and...

    SOLD 2 x PEPR 34mm / 20MOA mounts

I'm moving to a QD mount so I can switch from LPVO for 3 Gun and mid-range for squirrels n such. Only thing wrong is some marring from using feeler gauges to level one of the scopes. https://www.opticsplanet.com/burris-ar-pepr-scope-mount-w-picatinny-tops.html $100 shipped for the pair...
