New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
Are you sure the ports are drilled through the rifling? This is the closest thing I can find to a drawing. It almost looks like the piece forward of the barrel is a sleeve threaded onto the end of the barrel with the ports in it. I have no way the scale it but the actual barrel doesn't look to...
Reminds me of my first day working at a WW2 era shipyard machine shop. They called me the "Floor Man". When we got something in that we didn't have prints for it was my job to tear it down and document what came from where. Basically a print with dimensions. My first job was tearing down a...
"This will be going on a hunting rifle....want something small and sleek contoured to match the barrel"
What you will get is a decorative thread protector that makes a lot of noise.
Feel like a gorilla my ass! I'll bet you don't find many dress shirts that fit! Is you nickname Hoss? The adjuster will work but it won't be as easy to install correctly as others have said. Do you have sporting clay, skeet or trap clubs near you? The serious shogun shooters will know if there...
15.5 is a long stock. Have you even shot the rifle like it is?? I am not saying you don't need more length but 13.5 or so is pretty much standard LOP. Before I boogered up the stock I would tape a block of wood onto what you have and try it. I used to laugh at the competition shotgun guys who...
So you bought a barrel with a pinned gas block and lost the pin?? How hard would it be to call the supplier and ask for another pin?? Seems strange to me that the barrel wasn't shipped with the block installed. A drilled gas block only fits the barrel it was drilled with.
Two things in addition to what FisherT&C said... Lightweight leather gloves (Golf gloves) will increase traction lessening the force needed to grip the slide. Instead of using your thumb and forefinger try grasping the slide with your hand over the slide and thumb pointed toward you. Again more...
I also like Molyresin but to be honest if you don't have the the equipment to properly clean, media blast, spray and cook you will be better off having a professional Cerakote it. IMO nothing in a rattle can is of much value.
I spent many years building and repairing boats. We commonly used micro balloons for thickening liquid epoxy to make a fairing compound. Like Jumper said... It is not for structural use. I never had problems using Marine Tex as mixed without additives. Just make dams with modeling clay and let...
The hand rotates the cylinder but the bolt stops the rotation and locks the cylinder in the firing position. If the hand is short it may not rotate the cylinder far enough for the bolt to fully engage the slot in the cylinder. Cock the hammer very slowly until the sear engages like you were...
What torque wrench. All but the best can be off 5# or more close to the upper/lower ends of the range. Are you turning the barrel nut socket perpendicular to the wrench shaft. If not you are reading less than what the nut torque actually is. You may have to draw me a picture... I seems to me...
What are your plans for the finished product? Rim fire ARs don't do anything particularly well IMO. If all you have is the barrel you come out way ahead by just getting a dedicated rim fire upper.
blacknitride.co uses H&M with facilities in Glendale. I would bet MLS uses them to. They are local to them. How many magazines do you have to do to get the $10 price and how long do you have to wait. None of them run with the vessel anything but full. 10 bucks sounds to good to be true.
