    22 creedmoor

I shot a little today... I shot up to 45.5 of H1000 and had okay results. My best group was at 44.0 and it was about .5 MOA and was all horizontal variance. My 45.0 group had two touching and a flier.... I might play with 45 a little more. I didn't get into pressure at all and might try go up...

    New Berger 6.5mm 144gr LRHT

I ran some 144s in a 26" carbon Proof 6.5 SAUM a few weeks ago... I based it off of my 135 A-tip load and it didn't take long to get to pressure. I tried to get up to 60.1 of H1000 but ran into pressure in the mid 59s at about 3125. I backed my load down to 57.0 and am going to work up from...

    22 creedmoor

I am going to be honest with you, I am not 100% for sure for sure, but I think it is a 7.5 twist. I looked at my invoice and it didn't say. H1000 has treated me well on this cartridge, it is my go to with 95 SMKs.

    22 creedmoor

I have been breaking in a barrel and looking for a velocity node. It is a 26” Benchmark and 85.5 Berger Hybrids. I started with 40.2 of H4350 based on some 90 VLDs I ran in another 22 Creed. I also tried RL26 and H1000; RL26 just didn’t group as well as the H1000 and H4350. Using H4350, I was...

    Impact or loan peak Fuzion

Travis has spun a couple Lone Peaks with Proofs and Benchmarks for me... you will NOT be disappointed. They are all above and beyond my abilities.

    Impact or loan peak Fuzion

I have Defiance, Lone Peak, and just picked up an Impact. I don’t feel there is a difference in quality, all top notch. The more I shoot the Lone Peaks the more I like them. Bolt cycle is smooth and solid on closure. My latest Defiance I had nitrided... super super smooth and feels like my...

    opinions wanted: 223, x47L, or 308?

My opinion is free and you typically get what you pay for; that being said, a 6.5X47 is my favorite rifle to date. I have both a 6.5X47 shooting Berger 140s and a 308 shooting Berger 185 Jugs. I typically shoot plates at 500 to 1250 yards. I use my 6.5X47 the most. I planned to build a 223...

    22 Creedmore build

I have a 6.5 twist by SAC for 95 SMKs with lots of freebore and a 7 or 7.5 (can’t remember what TS Customs did) for 80s or 85.5 hybrids, Alpha SRP brass turned to 0.0145”, Whidden bushing dies, K&M mandrel for 0.0015” neck tension. Both are stupid awesome!!

Has anybody tried the new Berger 85.5 .224 Hybrids?

Jacket failure with the load I used on 88 ELDMs. They were cooking at 3325 with H4350 and about 15% to 20% of them would not make it to the target. I never played with them that much as I had 147s in a SAUM come apart on me and “my” negative attitude took over and never did more development to...

Has anybody tried the new Berger 85.5 .224 Hybrids?

I ran 88 ELDMs in a 22 creed up to 44.4 grains of RL26... was giving me a little bolt lift and over 3320. 42.0 grains gave me 3100 and 43.5 grains gave me 3200. On 90 VLDs of RL 26..... 42.0 grains gave me 3065 and 43.5 gave me 3175.

Has anybody tried the new Berger 85.5 .224 Hybrids?

Correct, above data is for a 6.5 twist Bartlein heavy Palma 24”, Area 419 brake and Apha II action.... chambered by Short Action Customs with lots of freebore.

Has anybody tried the new Berger 85.5 .224 Hybrids?

I have a 22 Creed with a 24” 6.5 twist throated for 95 SMKs. I did push both 90 VLDs and some 88 ELDMs through it both over 3300 FPS. This might help a little.... on charges and speeds. I pre-ordered 85.5s for a new rig I have not shot yet with 0.030” less freebore and a 7 or 7.5 twist. I...

    6.5 SAUM powder options

H1000 shot well for 130s to 140s for me. I grabbed some Viv 565 to try in a 300 wsm and see how it is before changing up my current H1000 recipes. I know guys have liked it in the 6.5 PRCs. Also, RL26 work well for 123s, I assume it would work for 140s to.

    AR10 6mm Creedmoor barrel

I have a Mega set with a JP barrel that had a rifle length gas tube... was good with 107 SMKs. 105 hybrids would hit the feed ramp. Took it off with 900ish rounds and went to a carbon proof.... 200 rounds and not found a load I like. Finally gave up and called proof; they told me to use 108...

    Loads for 6.5 SAUM 4S

I really like the 156... my goal was 3050 FPS. I have shot almost 200 of the 156s now with HBN coating; also HBN coated my barrel before I shot them. I found a good node at 3080, but pushed them all the way to 3170 with Retumbo. If I could have stayed at 3140 I would have... but it was just...

    Defiance xm action

Hawkins has BDM for detachable mags for both the Lone Peak Medium and the Defiance XM. My buddy and I both did Lone Peaks and we ended up getting the BDL for when we wanted more of a flush feel and BDM for mags for the rest of the time. Neither of us have put the BDLs back on and we have been...

    Defiance xm action

I have two mediums from Lone Peak so I already had a little direction. For the Defiance XM I used a McMillan Edge fill and a BDM from Hawkins Precision. Same as I did on my Lone Peaks, all parties were so good to work with I didn’t feel to change. I think Hawkins has prints to Manners to. I...

    Defiance xm action

It will not fit in a short action footprint... needs its own inlet. Action screw spacing is different. I am putting a 300 WSM together on a Defiance XM, have all the parts just need to bed it and start load work.
