    Night Vision N-Vision Halo Issue

    It's a good idea but I still suggest leaving live CR123 batteries even when running off an external power source. The Halo will use external source by default but if there is any problem with the external source (USB bank, etc) the scope will immediately switch over to internal batteries.

    Night Vision Andres Industries

    I know guys from Andres Industries and have a lot of respect for them. They are designing and building new and innovative products in Germany and they are doing their best to make them right. The problem with export to the US and other countries is related to German laws. Any product that may...

    Night Vision N-Vision Optics Halo/Halo-LR Technical Questions and Comments

    @Rfeldhaus , first of all, I apologize that nobody got back to you. Technical side: I can not imagine how a vertical shift can be added when zooming in. I know that our math is correct and we use exactly the same software that has been proven to work fine for all systems. If you are really...

    Night Vision N-Vision Optics Halo/Halo-LR Technical Questions and Comments

    @Wingge : the behavior that you are describing does not seem to be related to use of the external battery. With pour contact to the external battery or battery voltage dropping down under recoil the scope completely loses zeroing information, and you are left with 0,0. If you continue seeing...

    Night Vision N-Vision Optics Halo/Halo-LR Technical Questions and Comments

    @TheHorta : painting, as long it is not damaging (tape off switches + rail mount + external connector + optics + slots between moving parts of the eyepiece) will not void the warranty but in case of repair work we may not be able to preserve or restore the custom paintwork. We don't have any...

    Night Vision N-Vision Optics Halo/Halo-LR Technical Questions and Comments

    @PlinkIt, good questions. The recommended torque setting for threaded inserts is 16 in-lb. The recommended torque setting for molded inserts is 20 in-lb. It's always recommended to use Loctite.

    Night Vision N-Vision Optics Halo/Halo-LR Technical Questions and Comments

    @PlinkIt , your list of changes is pretty much complete and observations are accurate on all accounts. The mounting interface was changed just a little bit but most notably we went from threaded inserts to molded inserts which allow for a wider range of torque.

    Night Vision N-Vision Optics Halo/Halo-LR Technical Questions and Comments

    Since March or so Halo-LRs are shipped with a much better lens caps. Unfortunately, new caps are not backward compatible.

    Night Vision N-Vision Optics Halo/Halo-LR Technical Questions and Comments

    @TheHorta , @EWS6 , @PlinkIt : I really appreciate your ideas and suggestions. They do not go unnoticed. However, I can not comment one way or another on products that we are working on or not. I hope you understand.

    Night Vision N-Vision Optics Halo/Halo-LR Technical Questions and Comments

    Question: Does turning Halo-LR on and off use more power than just leaving it on? Answer: Halo-LR draws more power during the startup than during the normal operation. However, the startup sequence is rather short (a few seconds). Leaving the Halo-LR on for extended periods of time instead of...

    Night Vision Full Moon Optics Thermal

    You also may want to check the manufacturer's web site for more details and more products: http://www.dipol.biz/products/termaldev__trashed/ Also, just as clarification, Ulis/Lyred do not make cores. They only make sensors and "core" is built around it. The source of cores in those devices...

    @ccasanova, you are correct.

    Night Vision Halo LR running review

    @NFAJohn, Halo and Halo-LR and electronically the same. You may want to confirm that your video output is set to OFF. Even when there is no video recorder connected to the scope if the Video output is set to PAL or NTSC the chip inside consumes some noticeable power.

    Night Vision Rechargeable 123’s

    I suggest confirming with a device manufacturer that it is capable of running on rechargeable CR123 (a.k.a RCR123, 18350, etc) and the higher battery voltage is not going to damage the device. Due to the voltage difference between rechargeable and non-rechargeable CR123 batteries you have to...

    @PlinkIt you are absolutely correct.

    Night Vision N-Vision Atlas 50mm for eyeglass wearers

    ATLAS works very well with eyeglasses. I understand that my opinion, in this case, maybe considered not very objective but I wear glasses all the time and have absolutely no problem using Atlas.

    Night Vision Halo LR not holding zero

    @Eirerogue having alive and properly installed batteries while running on the external power source should help in the case when external power fails/fluctuates a bit under recoil. It's not a 100% cure (there are some weird cases) but it helps quite a bit.
