New Contest Starting Now! This Target Haunts Me
Tell us about the one that got away, the flier that ruined your group, the zero that drifted, the shot you still see when you close your eyes. Winner will receive a free scope!
"one variant of a long action receiver"
Does that variant need to be specified on the order? Is this only for the 338 family (including 300 NM) or will this variant and that mag work with 300 PRC or 300 WM? If not which magazine is recommended?
For short action, I understand AW magazines work...
1. Reduce the powder charge until barrel time is 1.4343
2. Shoot to measure actual velocity
3. Adjust Ba until the prediction equals the measured velocity
4. Let us know how that shoots.
Good luck.
Remember simulations are just that. Trust what your rifle is telling you.
2900 fps with a 175 grain bullet is more than I would run given pressure signs at 64 gr.
Slow it down or go to a lighter bullet.
Eight twist is input correctly. The program only accepts the twist you input.
Muzzle velocity is calculated.
The other two are the standard coefficients for the powder lot they measured or the average data they obtained from the manufacturer, not the powder lot you are using. Powder burn...
Eight twist?
It's a bit hard to read, but I would increase the powder charge until barrel time hit 1.37135 which is halfway between OBT nodes six and seven, or reduce the powder charge until barrel time is 1.4343 which is probably too slow for your purpose.
I also find the closer Pmax is to...
I agree with the Archimedes bolt stop comments but there is a technique involved that makes things better which of course I’ve forgotten. It was something like the bolt stop won’t rotate with the bold all the way to the rear. any one remember?
Looks to be a one-inch minimum rifle no matter which load. I would pick a velocity you like and test seating depth.
Since we are all human, it's hard to walk away from load 3. Shoot it again.
