    Will the argon, nitrogen or whatever gas the scope was purged with run out if it's laying on its side? Hunting scopes with the capped turrets prevent this. Not sure about the tactical scopes.

    They just need to be kept above 1800fps for reliable expansion. As long as that happens whatever you hit in the vitals is dead.

    130gr ttsx at that speed kept within 3-400yds is more than adequate.
