Rifle Scopes Is there a market for a good MPVO

I had a bunch of LRTSi 3-12 and stupidly sold a few but I won't get rid of my last one. I think it's a great optic for a SPR-ish rifle, despite it's relative heft.

Rifle Scopes Is there a market for a good MPVO

Yeah, training and application thing. I get the benefits of the fully illuminated tree but I generally prefer to dial if shooting into dark shaded spot, high contrast, etc. Prefer to just hold wind and not elevation when it's like that. Like I said, I think it's just a preference thing and isn't...

Rifle Scopes Is there a market for a good MPVO

I agree that size and weight are much more important to me than an arbitrary limit on the top end. 2 scopes otherwise being identical, I'd much rather have a top end of 12 or 14 than 10, no question. That's kinda why I've been coming around to lightweight, compact/short optics with higher mag...

Rifle Scopes Is there a market for a good MPVO

I think part of the problem with MPVOs is that everyone has a slightly different take on what their intended use is. Most people will agree that the point of an LPVO is to be able to be fast at close range whilst being able to push out max range (especially with a 8x or 10x top end) but that the...

    Magpul DT-PR Stock

I'm curious to hear how you like the DT PR. I'm probably gonna pick one up to try out. I run CTRs on all my rigs and just started using the Subrevtec bag riders on them. The CTR with the bag rider is 11oz so a wash for weight so if the DT PR locks up as tight, I can see it being a bit cleaner...

Precision Rifle Gear Tango Innovations FIRE4000 WMLRF Initial Impressions

Company seems based in California, not Canada, per "Ontario, CA 91762". So still plenty of rainbows... ;)

I'm assuming 1.5" but how large an objective can it clear?

Vortex Impact 4000 Cold Weather Issues

Using the rechargeables is actually really nice, regardless of cold. I bought 4 of them and I keep one in the Impact, a spare in my bino harness and just swap them around. No more buying 123s for the LRF.

Vortex Impact 4000 Cold Weather Issues

In the big thread on the Impact, the suggestion for winter use is to go with rechargeable batteries, they don't last as long as lithiums in regular temps but do better in the cold, for some reason. That's been my experience as well, granted I haven't used mine in 15F as it's rarely that cold...

    Hornady 76g a tip

I'm the same as you, 75 BTHPs in gas guns and for practice in bolt guns, 75 ELDMs in the bolt gun when I find em cheap or for local matches if I wanna shoot tac. Same powder charge and BTO, both shoot bugholes in multiple barrels. No flyers for me either. It's cool that Hornady have made a...

5x micro magnifier options(or lack thereof)

I've used the Vortex 3x and 6x and much prefer the 6x. I'll preface this by saying I like magnifiers with an optic with multiple aiming points (like the Eotech EXPS-3-2). The typical holds with a 50 yd zero are great if you're shooting at full size IPSCs (hold the "head", hold "the hat", etc)...

Steiner C35 Gen 2 - Initial range trips and first hunt - Updated 9/30 with third hunt

Haven't seen it mentioned here but what's the minimum low end mag to be able to see the menus and stuff? Would it be gtg with a 4.5x low end? I want to snag one of these but lots of the rifles I'd run it on have a low end of 4.5x (Razor LHT, Razor G2).

Rifle Scopes optic choice for 20" hbar gas gun

I agree with most of your points on this. The PST G2 2-10 is better at 10x than the Razor G3 1-10, to me the advantages of the 1-10 are the lighter weight, reticle much more suited to holdovers and capped windage whereas the 2-10 is better at 10x and has adjustable parallax. I'd happily suck up...

    Side Mounted WMLRF

Just curious on how you have your red dot setup so that it also works as an aiming device for your LRF? I run red dots on bolt guns and gas guns but don't zero them the same way. On bolt guns, I dial my 600yd dope onto my magnified optic and then "co-zero" the red dot to the center of the...

    Side Mounted WMLRF

Hey Zak, what was it like to sling up for carrying with the WMLRF on the left hand side? That was always what I saw as the weak point in that setup, figured the rangefinder would catch on your gear.

    Side Mounted WMLRF

I think the hardest part of what you want to do will be properly setting up the parallel zero with your Impact and red dot. Vortex include a target for zeroing the Impact but since you're using a non-magnified RDS you'll have to zero close enough that you can see the viz laser and the reticle of...

Reforming .277 Fury brass to Creedmoor

Have you put enough of these rounds through a 6.5 Creed barrel yet to burn one out? Curious how much barrel life you give up for the added speed?

Did I hear correctly that yeti is killing mystery Ranch?

I've got a couple MR packs and always really liked them. My USA made 3DAP is wearing pretty thin though and has a zipper coming apart now, I wonder what this means for warranty? Guess I'll be getting a Kifaru to replace it...
