    25 Creedmoor

Nobody I know of has burnt a barrel yet and I've got my eye on most of the sources of 25 cal information. Best estimates of barrel life are between 6 Creed and 6.5 Creed. I always like to say closer to 6.5 Creed because of increasing diameter causing a proportionally larger increase in bore...

Rifle Scopes Zero Compromise Optic update

I need some too and the ARD. Call or email Mile High or CS Tactical for Tenebraex caps, they've both got them. Gotta call CS for the ARD. Neither have them listed on their websites that I know of.

    AI Folder “Butt Bucket”

https://initialascent.com/product/ia-rifle-holder/ I'm looking at one of these to do the same thing with my MR Scree

    Left-Hand Gain Twist

I'd like to explore it too, and while I'm still very early in my current barrel and see it lasting me at least two or three years, I still plan on my next one being a LH-GT either for the benefits of it, or for the experimentation.

Gunsmithing Stiller DBM Overlength Magazine Release

I posted this in the bolt-action section a few days ago and got nothing, so I thought this would be a better place to ask. Does anyone have a lead on where I could get an overlength mag release lever for a Stiller DBM that will make the magazine sit higher? Maybe a modification or a fix that I...

    Left-Hand Gain Twist

I listened to one of the podcasts today (Episode 171, I think) and a couple questions popped up in my head about LH-GT barrels. What benefit is provided by gain twist if you are already are adequately stabilizing your preferred bullet and have no need to twist anything faster? I know Frank...

    Stiller DBM Long Mag Release

Does anyone have a lead on where I could get an overlength mag release lever for a Stiller DBM that will make the magazine sit higher?

    25 Creedmoor

That's what I was going to do if online wasn't back up by the time my next paycheck drops, lol

Any good tactical pants for summer?

I have nothing but good to say about the Vertx Hyde LT pants in warm weather. The fabric is light and stretchy, low-profile side zippers open for more ventilation, and I absolutely LOVED the pocket layout. They looked pretty slick too. Alas, I am a long and skinny fucker and they're about two...

Rifle Scopes Zero Compromise Optic update

Chromatic Abberation. It's the color fringing you see, typically on white objects, caused by each color of light in the spectrum having a slightly different wavelength and reacting with the glass and coatings slightly differently.

    25 Creedmoor

Maybe do a gain twist if it worries you that much? I have no problem with the 1-7" in my 25x47, but I'm probably going to do a Bartlein left hand gain twist on my next barrel.

Recent reviews on Nucleus actions that don’t include wait times.

Ran mine in a match today and it was flawless. I never shot mine with the 16 pound spring because I wanted every primer to go off without worry. I don't find the bolt lift to be bad with the 25 pound spring. I'd say it was comparable to the Curtis I felt today in bolt lift. Honestly, I love...

Advanced Marksmanship crazy shots!!!! lets hear about them...

I was probably 14 or 15 when some family friends of ours offered to take me duck hunting. One afternoon that week my mentor and I went out to a river bottom that he knew as a pretty good flyway. We set up and waited. Coincidentally, it was also dove season, so we had plans to shoot just about...

Rifle Scopes Zero Compromise Optic update

As if anyone was worried about it I ran a tracking test on my ZCO 527 today. I wasn't worried, but I've got my first match this weekend and everything mechanical can and will fail, so I ran one anyway. It came out perfect though 19.7 mils. And I mean PERFECT. As should be expected from a...

    Earpro for scoped rifles?

I use the Impact Sports. They don't seem to interfere with my cheek weld at all. I also double up and I use the Surefire Defenders for in-ear protection at the moment. I have a pair of both the foam tipped and the flanged models and they are the most comfortable plugs I've worn.

    Rifle Scopes Interesting rings swap!

I honestly like ARC M10 rings so much I'm considering swapping out the Sphur I have on my ZCO to them...

    Salt bath annealing advice

Right, I wouldn't think the gradient to be extreme enough to cause an anomaly like this on the small scale that it is.

    Salt bath annealing advice

Well, that is how convection would work, the hotter material becoming less dense, rising to the top, cooling off, and then sinking back to the bottom of the pot.

    Salt bath annealing advice

Because the cases are still being annealed and softened. It still "works," just not to the standard that they have set for their own machines. They said that 95-100 HV is optimally annealed and, through their other testing, that anything over 120 HV is doing nothing for sizing and seating...

    Salt bath annealing advice

Most of what I've seen is based in industrial applications. It provides some insight, but not truly applicable to what we are trying to do. I'm glad to see AMP has done some research and maybe that will prompt someone into doing some more independent testing to validate their claims. If salt...
